My love for watermelon runs deep. Â I get that very honestly, because my dad is a watermelon connoisseur from way back, so it definitely must be passed on down in the family genes. Â We have eaten watermelon at my house as long as I can remember growing up. We always had a cold watermelon in the refrigerator at my parents house and I have kept that tradition going. There is, indeed, a watermelon in my fridge as I type this.
When the Georgia Watermelon growers sent me an email recently asking me if I’d like to come up with a watermelon beverage recipe to share on my blog, I said, YES I’ll take the challenge. I figured if I love eating watermelon so much, a refreshing beverage would be just as good. Â And it is, I’m happy to report!
This is a delicious, refreshing watermelon drink. Â I searched online for some guidance and came up with a recipe from Whole Foods that I tweaked. Â I added lime to mine, since I love lime so much. Â If you don’t love lime, then leave it out and just use lemonade or just use 1/2 the Lime concentrate container for a less-Limey flavor.
But, I loved it just as it came out, so see what you think about this one!
Fresh watermelon, lemonade and limeade concentrate.
Scoop out watermelon, ready for the blender or food processor. Â You’ll need 8 cups. Â I used my Pampered Chef melon ball scoop for this.
My Blendtec came in handy for this and the watermelon was pureed in no time flat.
Add it to a pitcher, stir in the lemonade and limeade concentrate and it’s ready to serve. This recipe adds sparkling water to it for a nice little sizzle.
And you have a delicious, refreshing glass of watermelon lemon-lime spritzer. Â It is so good and so refreshing on a hot, hot day like we are having in Atlanta this year.
Here’s a printable recipe for you!
Sparkling Watermelon Lemon-Lime Spritzer
Refreshing summer beverage.
Ingredients
- 8 cups fresh watermelon
- 1 Can Frozen lemonade concentrate
- 1 Can Frozen lime concentrate
- 1 Bottle chilled seltzer or club soda
- Lime Slices for garnish
Instructions
-
Puree watermelon in blender until smooth. Pour into 2 quart pitcher. Stir in lemonade and limeade concentrates until completely melted. Cover, refrigerate overnight. When ready to serve, fill 10-oz. glass with ice cubes and 1/2 to 3/4 full of water melon mixture. Top with seltzer or club soda (stir to mix) and garnish with lime slices.
Recipe Notes
If you don't like lime flavors, then stick to 2 lemonades. If you think it might be a little too much lime for you, use 1/2 the lime concentrate. I enjoyed it just like this! The lime flavor can take over, but it was delicious.
The Georgia Watermelon Growers are having a contest on their Facebook page for the best summertime drink using watermelon, so you all are welcome to join in too. Â Come up with a drink recipe and submit it to the contest! Â Mine is a family friendly recipe, but you can make whatever you want!Â
Note: Â This is a sponsored post from the Georgia Watermelon Growers. Â All ideas, opinions and love of watermelon is my own.Â

I have a watermelon in my fridge right now too. Watermelon would be on my list of favorite foods. My husband can always pick out the best ones 🙂 I don’t know how he does it, but it’s an art.
Thank you so much for this recipe, as it looks so refreshing.
God Bless, MG

There are two different size cans for frozen Lemonade and Line concentrates. What are the total ounces for each of the cans that you used for this recipe?
Rhoda says
Hi, Nancy, I didn’t look at the ounces on these and don’t have any around, but these cans I’d say are the standard size concentrate sizes out there. There is probably a bigger one, but these are the ones I see everywhere. Kroger has their own brand and most stores do as well. I’d say these are 8 to 10 oz cans.

Hello, Happy 4th of July This looks perfect to finish of my holiday lunch. Can alcohol be added for an evening cocktail? And what kind of alcohol?
Rhoda says
HI, Beth, I’m sure you could add whatever kind of alcohol you’d like in there, like rum or vodka.
