Spring is trying to arrive in Georgia, but it’s been a little slow going this year. We are more than halfway through March and have seen a few 70 degree days, but I can’t wait for her to show up for good. In honor of spring and Easter, I decided to create a little Easter vignette for the foyer table, using paper Mache eggs and painting them in pretty colors. Spring Easter egg decorations are a fun little addition!
Love this burst of spring on my foyer table!
Using FrogTape Shape Tape™, in Scallop and Wave patterns, I taped them on the eggs and painted away.
Using colors I already had on hand, it mixed up the eggs and colors.
My favorite pattern ended up being the scallop. But, you can really do whatever you like with the tapes.
I painted them, let it dry and then moved the tape around the eggs until I was satisfied with my designs. I used the end of a pencil eraser for the dotted one.
I’ve had this white iron birdbath for years and picked it up at a yardsale as well as that pretty white ironstone vase. These accessories sure do come in handy for using them in vignettes and the white iron is the perfect complement to my Easter eggs.
Filled with bright green moss and adding a cute birdnest to the mix, my eggs are looking pretty.
A mossy bunny joins my bunch of colorful tulips in the vase. He came from Pier One years ago and always makes an appearance in the Spring.
There’s nothing more beautiful to me than tulips and I love them this time of year, reminding me that Spring is indeed coming soon.
And sweetly colored Easter eggs take me back to my childhood when we would sit at the kitchen table and color Easter eggs every year. I loved doing that with my mom. She always had plenty of real eggs on hand and we used those Paas kits with the tablets, coloring our eggs and decorating them so pretty. Lauren, my niece, STILL loves to color Easter eggs and no doubt will continue that tradition with her little bunny! I love Spring and Easter and so enjoy those traditions that go with this time of year.
Happy Spring! Are you getting ready for Spring at your house?
So, that’s my Frogtape® project this month, hope this got you inspired once again with the POWER of paint and how you can virtually change anything with paint. My fave home improvement weapon, paint does wonders for everything.

I’m off on another adventure today, flying to NYC for a brand event with Wayfair. I love going to New York and no doubt it will be an exciting time. I’ll be taking lot of pics and soaking in the city again, even if it’s a quick visit.
Have fun in NYC…. I am going in May so I look forward to your post. I visited so many of the places that you posted about Nola… You are a great travel resource. Safe Travels.
Hi Rhoda! Oh, what a sweet vignette on that spicy runner! Your eggs are just darling. I so remember the rabbit on a stick. Everyone in blogland got one but me – I was out of town and when I was trying to catch up and saw them, ran to Pier One and they were all out.
Hope you’re doing well.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia;)
You are so smart and creative!!
So cute & yet so simple & easy! Will have to try this.
I’ve decided spring is my favorite season too. (Before it gets so bloody hot in Florida!) I am inspired to do some spring decorating too. I haven’t done much since my children and grandchildren were small. Never too old to start a new tradition.
Never thought to use Frog Tape to create designs on eggs….so creative Rhoda!…they are just adorable and love your foyer table dressed for Spring!! Love the scalloped pattern on the egg too!
Aren’t you so creative! I would have never thought of using Frog Tape! I have a little left from last year’s Haven… I know what I’ll be doing! Thanks for the inspiration!
What a cute idea, love it! Your photos are good too. It is early autumn here but we are still experiencing hot weather, its fabulous, a real ‘Indian summer” that’s what we say over here.
How lucky going to NY, I have never been there before. I had hoped to attend a blogger conference in the USA this year but still battling with my dry eye problem, so no travel until I can get this under control 🙁
Lee 🙂
Love this! A couple of questions – did you find white eggs? I am only finding brown. What kind of paint did you use?
Your results are delightful – can’t wait to try this!
Mary they were paper mache eggs from Michaels, sort of white. I used left over latex paint, see pics.
