Spring Flowering Centerpiece

As part of our Lowes challenge this month, making a Springy centerpiece for an Easter table was part of the plan, so I set about doing just that. Even though I’ll be celebrating Easter with my family, either at my parent’s house or my sister’s, depending on the weather, it was fun to bring out some of my Easter/Spring goodies and see what I could put together to beat this cold, dreary weather we are having, adding some Spring sunshine to my table.

To get things started, I browsed around my local Lowes to see what Spring accessories they might have in right now. As I was looking outside at the flowers, the temps hovered around 37º, not exactly Spring-like, right? But, I spotted a nice big pot of African daisies that just yelled out spring to me. Nothing better than yellow flowers to perk up the temperature, even when the weather is not cooperating.

So, those flowers became a big focal point of my centerpiece, along with a pretty white lantern that is also new at Lowes. The tray is a mirror found at a yardsale and its color has been changed a few times. This vibrant green/blue is fun for this time of year.

lantern and lemons

They had 2 sizes and I knew that this would be fun to use on my porch later on too. Lanterns are multi-versatile for many things.

bird and nest

I filled my lantern with green reindeer moss which I’ve had in my stash for a long time, along with a pretty natural bird and nest with eggs. These are items I keep around for this time of year and drag them out year after year for some Spring goodness.

daisies and white lantern

Inside one of my glass cylinders, I piled real lemons, straight from the fridge. Sprinkling around some faux eggs and a few seashells, Spring is in the air. Do you feel it yet where you are? I’m begging Spring to come on to Atlanta!

bunny and daisies

Those yellow daisies are sure to make you happy. Mr. flying bunny came from Pier One several years ago and he is always a crowd pleaser.

Green and yellow are such happy colors this time of year and I love the combo.

bunny shells and eggs

A concrete bunny on top of my painted mirror is also fun to add.

The yellow checked fabric is left over from my fabric stash and covers the plain plastic pot. Sitting on top of a cake plate just adds a little extra lift to the flowers.

And that’s how I added some Spring to my dining room, straight from Lowes and just in time for Easter this weekend.

Surely, we are going to see the sun shine soon and all those blooms will really happen outside. This is one of the latest and wettest Springs I can remember in awhile, but I can’t wait for warmer temps and more sun very soon.

How about you? Are you adding any Spring to your house this year?

Rhoda that’s beautiful, so cheery and refreshing!! You always inspire me; I wouldn’t have thought to put seashells with Easter eggs but you certainly know how to make it all work together very well!

Since my Hubby works at Lowe’s I’m always interested in seeing what you do for their challenges. It’s nice just to put a list of things I need/want with his billfold for him to bring home. (Yay for Employee Discounts too!)

Happy Easter to you and your family!
