I hope summer is treating you well! We are having a typical lazy summer enjoying our backyard and pool. We’ve kept some of the grandkids more lately and they sure love the pool. We’re so glad we had it built! Today, I’m sharing a little summer decorating in our house. I don’t reinvent the wheel. I just add a little summer to what’s there and make it as simple as possible. Shells and hydrangeas do the trick and add that summer fun.

I’ve got my summer hydrangea door basket up again this year and love it. Adding flags during the season makes it work for Memorial Day and the 4th of July too. I’ve got a page in my Amazon shop with all the items to make this door basket if you’re interested.

I always change out the coffee table for the seasons and that’s an easy way to bring in summer.

I love this textured basket with faux greenery. I added a pretty pottery shell I found in Mississippi with real shells inside.

Simple and easy summer decorating.

Looking to the dining room.

In the foyer, I did cut some real hydrangeas. My blue hydrangeas weren’t as prolific this year as they have been, but I had more I could have cut, but I just left it at these. They don’t last too long inside anyway.

I do enjy them for a few days.

These green glass bottles are fun to pull out.

And a blue and white bowl filled with shells is always a good idea. I have been collecting shells all my life.

In the dining room, I just added a blue and white vase with limelight hydrangeas from last year’s crop. The dried ones last awhile.

The green looks good with my chinoiserie table runner, that I still love, by the way!

I think that runner is one of the best deals I’ve found! Look how great it looks with my blue and white transferware! My bamboo flatware is another great find. Seagrass Placemats are from Arthur Court.

It’s beautiful, even though it didn’t cost much. The best finds in my book!

It looks fresh and summery on the sideboard too.

Simple and easy in the family room, I didn’t do much in here but add more of those faux stems. I love those stems, the pack of 6 comes in handy.
And that’s it for my summer home this year! We are outside most every day, so that’s where summer is spent for us!

I just love your home!! I just read two other blog posts where the color palette was similar to yours–blue and white. However, they were just so monochromatic and cold. Your blue and white is warmed up by those gorgeous Schumacher pillows with the reds and oranges, your lovely warm and distressed wood, gold metals, touches of green and greenery, shells, bamboo, and beautiful landscape paintings. You’ve also chosen many shades of blue–navy, cornflower, turquoise, aqua. It’s all so well done!!
