Two years ago, I watched along with millions of others in blogland, as Ree, the Pioneer Woman and her hubby did the renovation on their lodge. It was fun to see the transformation happen as she documented the progress on her blog. So, what a treat it was for ME to actually travel to OK and stay in the Lodge myself. Last fall, I even wrote about Ree’s feature in Southern Living magazine, with the lofty dream of someday going to the ranch. Wonders never cease! 🙂
It is a beautiful place and so well done. Ree told us that when she and Marlboro Man got married that he was living in the Lodge at the time and after a few years, the decision had to be made on whether to just tear it down or renovate it. They decided to renovate and they certainly did it up right. It’s a perfect guesthouse, with 4 bedrooms, each with its own bath.
It’s peaceful and quiet too, with a wonderful view of the ranch.
Sitting on this porch would be so peaceful and serene. I loved all that green grass out there.
As you walk in the door, this sitting area greets you. Ree and her mother-in-law, I think were the main ones who picked out the furniture and accessories for the lodge and it turned out superb. Eye candy all around.
Looking back at the door coming in. Love all the cow hides she uses throughout. That just gives it a total Western authenticity and vibe.
Loved everything about this corner. That large mirror bounces around the light and adds a lot to the space. 
This old antique cabinet was right inside the door and graced with a marble top. 
Check out the spacious kitchen, with concrete countertops. This is ONE BIG kitchen. Those ceilings are amazing too. 
And the industrial barstools are pretty wonderful too. 
What a kitchen, what a view! 
Love the stone wall too, that breaks up all the wood. 
Wood deer head above the open shelves was a nice touch, as was all the white dishes displayed and ready to use. 
How about this range? Ready for any cooking project you can imagine. 
These cast iron pots were handy too at the end of the long island. 
Some fresh veggies waiting on the countertop. 
And here’s that massive fireplace that we all watched being constructed. It takes the stage in the room and is really a focal point. On the far side is a massive flat screen TV. 
This table was gorgeous too and was perfect for the space. 
I took this pic early morning with the sun coming in the windows, you can see how pretty and distinct the wood is on the table. 
I loved the candles on this huge tray too.
These 2 chairs really caught my eye. 
They were just lovely and also a nice addition to the Lodge. 
This is the back hallway leading to all 4 bedrooms. Loved this piece too with the pretty mirror hanging over it.

And again, this is the bedroom I was lucky enough to stay in. 
And the bathroom off my room. Beautiful, simple, and elegant at the same time.

And this little area tucked away had all these cowboy boots lined up. I loved it!

With cans of everything you might imagine to be in Ree’s kitchen. 
And a framed print of her cookbook cover and the fact that it was #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. Congrats on that, Ree, well deserved too.
And that’s the Lodge. I hope you enjoyed seeing it all from my camera lens. It truly was an honor to be there and to be part of this project.
If you look really close, you can see some cows dotted at the very top of the ridge above. Beautiful lodge and picturesque countryside, that’s how I’d describe Oklahoma. This was my first visit to the state.
Right before we left, I plopped down in one of the rocking chairs and asked Lisa to take some pics with my new camera and I ended up with a few that I like a lot.
Must be something about that Oklahoma sunshine.

Thanks for sharing Rhoda…loved seeing all the decorations. One thing I am seeing in a lot of decorating magazines and on HGTV is the tightly woven rattan baskets with the large pillar candles sitting inside. They are usually placed on a dining room table. I was thinking of appropriating that idea myself. So when I saw it at Ree’s lodge, I was more convinced that this might be my fall dining room table decoration.
What a wonderful experience! Did you scope out Cowboy Josh for any of your single girlfriends??? I hope Ree does a dating party with her readers, I think it would be hilarious.
