Thrifty Treasures for the week

I’ve been at the Lovelady Center all weekend tackling the room redo, so no yardsales for me this week.  I can’t wait to share all of that with you.  It totally turned out SO cute!! We all love it.

But, here are a few items that I picked up for the room while yardsaling that I painted and rehabbed to make them work for the room.

Here’s the functional, but pretty sad little folding bookcase I picked up for $5.

And here it is AFTER with the same sassy green paint I used at my house.  This brassy lamp was $2 and I knew it would be perfect for what I needed it for.

And if was after a couple of coats of white spray paint.  I had picked up this shade last year, simply because it was too darn cute to pass up at 50 cents.  I had nowhere to use it until now. It goes great with the Lovelady room stuff. After finding that pretty coral red throw  (brand new for $4)  at a yardsale, I decided to add some accent pieces in the room. Got out my craft paints and painted several things this color and they will be sprinkled around the room for some extra pop.  I’ll show you the whole room soon!

So, now it’s YOUR turn for the party this week! What have YOU found lately. Add your link to the Linky list and remember our guidelines for the party:

  1. Add your permalink to the link list, which is the actual post that you did for this party, NOT your general blog url. To get the actual post, after you publish the post, just click on the title and THAT will be your party post url. Last year, I can’t tell you how many links I had to fix. This year I might get mean & delete them, so PLEASE try to get the correct url in the first time! 🙂
  2. Please add my button to your post or blog OR at least link back to this post in your post. That’s all I ask. It’s common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.
  3. Please do NOT link to an Etsy shop or something similar (even if you think it’s a fabulous deal) or I will delete the link. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from yardsales, thriftstores, or something along those lines. If I see that your post is not really on track with this theme AND you don’t link back, I’ll delete your link.  Sorry, but I’d like to keep the party consistent! IF YOU SEE THAT YOUR LINK HAS BEEN DELETED, IT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN LINE WITH THIS PARTY THEME.

At first I didn’t realize that was the same lamp Rhoda! I had to go back and take another look! That shade is amazing! Aren’t you so glad you picked it up? Looking forward to seeing the Lovelady Center with your lovely touches!

I cannot wait to see your room re-do. I miss decorating so much. Living in a rental is plain boring sometimes for one’s decorative spirit. I therefore must live vicariously through others for now. Hopefully soon I’ll have my own walls to paint. The bookshelf looks amazing.

Thank you for hosting this great party! I really love thrifty treasures! You did some great purchases yourself! Your bookcase looks stunning, just like your lampshade!
And the little splashes of red will look so happy and bright in your room!
