Thrifty Treasures: Happy Labor Day!

Did you stay home this weekend or are you out traveling around somewhere for that last trip of summer?  I’m home this weekend, getting back to work on the house.  I’m happy to say that dad and I finished up ALL the stairs in the house on Saturday and that was a happy day for sure.  I can’t wait to show them to you very soon.

In the meantime, let’s do the regular party feature this week.  It might be a little smaller this week, since it’s a holiday, but party on! It really does tickle me to see what y’all find every week.  I’m a little bit jealous, in fact!

At home on the bay 24

How I love white pottery?  I just can’t get enough of it and neither can At Home by the Bay.  This pretty little chunky vase was $10 and it’s adorable.

DIY Village 79

The DIY Village took some used barstools and turned them into these beauties with paint, stain and vinyl numbers on top.  Love them!

Elegant Nest

This pic just made me smile.  Those red Foo dogs are fun and funky and this little vignette from Elegant Nest has some great colors going on.

Embracing Change 75

Classic piece and check out those legs on this sweet sideboard that Embracing Change found on Craigslist for a mere $40!  And it reminds me a lot of my sideboard which I still have and love and will be using in my new house.  This was a steal and I really hope she doesn’t paint it.

everyday home 14

Everyday Home’s story of this old door was heart-warming and sweet.  The older gentlemen who sold it to her even knew what Shabby Chic was all about.  This one is very cool!

Fab Rehab 51

These French twin beds are just beautiful and Fab Rehab Creations made them even better with this gray paint treatment. What a find these are!

It's Overflowing 6

An $8 throw added some color to the bed at It’s Overflowing and it reminded her of her Grandma, so that was priceless.

number 53 7

A gossip bench for $4.99 gets a fresh coat of yellow paint by Number Fifty-Three.  Tres chic now!

Refresh Restyle 43

Debbie at Refresh Restyle found a Pottery Barn rug 2nd hand at a thriftstore for 1/4 the price of new.  Gotta love that!

Thistlewood 41

And our finale today, from Karianne at Thistlewood Farm, this old map of Kentucky is right at home in her beautiful farmhouse.

Did you score something fun this week too?

There are a TON of parties out there to highlight all your projects, so please let’s keep this one about thrifty finds that were bought 2nd hand! Not a great sale from the store, or a recipe, or just a plain project, but 2nd Hand finds only! And please DO NOT go back in your archives to OLD posts and link up. Let’s keep this party fresh and current! If you have already shared your find in a previous Thrifty party, DON’T share it again! Please, girls, I don’t want to have to delete links.

  • Add your permalink to the link list, which is the actual post that you did for this party, NOT your general blog url. To get the actual post, after you publish the post, just click on the title and THAT will be your party post url. PLEASE try to get the correct url in the first time! :)
  • Please add my button to your post or blog OR at least link back to this post in your post. That’s all I ask. It’s common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.
  • Please do NOT link to an Etsy shop or something similar (even if you think it’s a fabulous deal) or I will delete the link. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from yardsales, thriftstores, or something along those lines. If I see that your post is not really on track with this theme AND you don’t link back, I’ll delete your link. Sorry, but I’d like to keep the party consistent!

IF YOU SEE THAT YOUR LINK HAS BEEN DELETED, IT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN LINE WITH THIS PARTY THEME.

Again this year, I’ll be highlighting great finds from the party, so if you want your find highlighted, PLEASE link back to the party. Only those who link back will be considered for highlighting the next week. Thanks!

Oh, I’m so envious of those twin beds – they are just gorgeous!

I found my chairs and table for only $60 last week. Was a birthday gift to myself 🙂

Love your features Rhoda especially those twin beds and that awesome door. You’re so lucky to be able to work along side your dad in your new home, I really miss my dad helping out around here. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

It must feel really good finishing the work on the stairs! I can’t wait to see some pictures, the other thing I’m looking forward to see is the granite in your kitchen, how exciting!

Oh, I love this week’s treasure blog. Sometimes I have a hard time visualizing how some of the pieces featured will be used, but that antique sideboard is just fabulous! I seriously (as in seriously pleading, begging, and praying) that it does not get painted as well. The Foo Dog bookends are just great, and the French twin beds are wonderful.

We are hanging out at home this weekend working in the yard, cooking, helping my son with a scout project, and watching him march with his high school’s marching band at the first football game of the season with my daughter. I do so love football season and marching band season…so much fun!
