Thrifty Treasures Mother’s Day Edition 5-13

Happy Mother’s day to all of you!!

I am spending the day with my sweet mom and entire family on the porch at my sister’s house and we’ll be enjoying some delicious food and time together.  My niece, Lauren is  home for the weekend and we are so happy to see her.

While I’ve been busy renovating my house, you all have been out hunting down the treasures.  One day, I’ll be out there joining you again, but in the meantime, take a look at these goodies, some highlights from last week.

A living space

How cheerful is this Pyrex Daisy covered bowl that A Living Space scored out thrifting?

Bungalow

Debra from Bungalow took a yardsale chair and remade it yet again.  That’s the fun part about recyling, it can be changed up on a whim.

Finding Secret Treasure

A $3 Goodwill breadbox gets a thrifty makeover from Finding Secret Treasure.  Isn’t this so cute now?

Frugal Homemaker

Christina from The Frugal Homemaker almost let this one slip through her fingers.  Only $3.03 from Value Village, she managed to go back and snag it before it was too late.  Won’t this cutie be adorable with a makeover?

Keeping it Cozy

I just love ironstone and so does Keeping it Cozy, who nailed a great deal at a local shop on this beautiful ironstone pitcher from England,  for around $16.

My Little Nest

Suzan from My Little Nest scored big time on this honest to goodness ironstone, all for $5 from a community yardsale.  Be still my jealous heart!

Tatter and Fray

Tatter and Fray took advantage of the 50% off day at her local Goodwill and STOLE this cute creamer/sugar set for 98 cents total.  Deal!

Thrifty girl

I’ve got white pottery on the brain this week.  $4.99 deal from Budget Design Girl, yep, I would have picked this up too.

Watch the Wind Blow

Marie scored these 2 beautiful pitchers for next to nothing at a community yardsale:  50 cents for the red and white one and $1 for the pretty aqua pitcher.  Both great finds!

Just a note!  Some of the link-ups are really pushing the envelope and are projects instead of thrifty 2nd hand finds.  Please keep your links appropriate for the party, or I will have to delete them!

So, what did YOU find this week?

There are a TON of parties out there to highlight all your projects, so please let’s keep this one about thrifty finds that were bought 2nd hand! Not a great sale from the store, or a recipe, or just a plain project, but 2nd Hand finds only!

And please DO NOT go back in your archives to OLD posts and link up. Let’s keep this party fresh and current! If you have already shared your find in a previous party, DON’T share it again! Please, girls, I don’t want to have to delete links.

  1. Add your permalink to the link list, which is the actual post that you did for this party, NOT your general blog url. To get the actual post, after you publish the post, just click on the title and THAT will be your party post url. PLEASE try to get the correct url in the first time! :)
  2. Please add my button to your post or blog OR at least link back to this post in your post. That’s all I ask. It’s common courtesy to link back to the person having the party, so that all of your readers can find it too.
  3. Please do NOT link to an Etsy shop or something similar (even if you think it’s a fabulous deal) or I will delete the link. This party is for sharing thrifty finds from yardsales, thriftstores, or something along those lines. If I see that your post is not really on track with this theme AND you don’t link back, I’ll delete your link. Sorry, but I’d like to keep the party consistent! IF YOU SEE THAT YOUR LINK HAS BEEN DELETED, IT IS PROBABLY BECAUSE IT IS NOT IN LINE WITH THIS PARTY THEME.

Again this year, I’ll be highlighting great finds from the party, so if you want your find highlighted, PLEASE link back to the party. Only those who link back will be considered for highlighting the next week. Thanks!

Happy Mother’s Day! Sound like you’re having a fabulous time celebrating with loved ones out on the porch.

    *sigh*

Still a bit too chilly here in Chicago for all-out porch time. Soon. Very, very soon …

Thanks for hosting. Your party has inspired me to get back and visit my Salvation Army. And yard sale season (for us Chicagoans is just around the corner …

    🙂

    Hi Rhoda,
I think this is my first time linking up here. My post is a flea market bargain that I turned into a thrifty project so I hope it qualifies as a legit topic to share. Thanks so much for hosting!

Good Morning, Rhoda! It sounds like you had a wonderful Mother’s Day (and maybe took a day off from rehabbing). Great features here today. I am off to visit a couple of them. I have to say that is the best makeover of one of those old wooden breadboxes that I have ever seen. Who didn’t have one of those boxes back in the 70’s? Have a great day- xo Diana
