My blog is 2 years old!
Two years ago, on a whim and at the encouragement of my sweet friend, Kim of Daisy Cottage fame, I started blogging. And I’m so happy I did! I’ve met so many great friends and wonderful women who share the love of home and hearth just like I do. And it’s been such a blessing to me to have YOU out there reading, commenting, emailing and interacting with me. If not for you, I wouldn’t be doing this blog. So, thank ALL OF YOU from the bottom of my heart for making my blog a fun place to visit.
And thanks to ALL of you for taking my poll! As I figured, decorating and yardsaling came in as the top 2 things that most of you are interested in with the rest of the topics trailing behind. But, to all of you who enjoy the recipes, shopping, travel, and my family adventures, do not fear…I’m not changing anything. I was just curious as to what you all like and I’m not surprised a bit! Decorating always gets my attention on blogs too and because it’s such a creative part of my life, along with doing it on a budget, that will continue to be the main focus of my blog. I just have to be myself and what I share with you is just my life and what I do, so I’m glad it is interesting to you and that’s what I’ll keep on sharing. I can’t be anyone else but ME, so that’s what you see here at Southern Hospitality. I am so grateful that so many of you come by my blog and I’ve gotten a TON of new readers, so welcome to all of you who just found me in the last month or so. I’m so glad you did! It seems that during the Christmas season, I pick up a lot of new readers from the Christmas tours. And it was this time last year that I launched my home decorating business. It’s been an interesting first year with a few new clients. I’m not setting any records for successful new businesses and I’m not getting rich, but I sure have enjoyed doing what I love to do and helping women create a more beautiful home. I’m looking forward to what this year holds as well.
I only wish I had more time in the day to visit all my old and new friends that I’ve made in these 2 years of blogging. I constantly run out of time to visit blogs and that always makes me feel sad, but it’s just a fact of the blogworld. Can’t do it all, so thanks for understanding! I tell people that blogging is like having a part-time job…and it truly is! A fun part-time job.
SAVE THE DATE: Birmingham Girls: Let’s definitely put March 7th on the calendar for the Birmingham Flea Market. I’ve never been, so we can all explore it together. I have heard they have some killer deals on oil paintings. Let’s have some fun shopping, going to lunch, and looking forward to a great spring. I’ll come up with more details as it gets closer to the date.

What I also like about you is when I first commented on your post that you came to my mine and visited me too.
I feel your kindness just by reading your posts… You are a blessing to a lot of people.
I also understand if you can’t visit everybody’s blogs. You can only do so much. 🙂

Congratulations! I came upon your blog by accident when I was searching for tureen fabric for my kitchen and have been a loyal follower ever since. My husband says we are decorating sisters separated at birth because our styles are so similar and we have so many of the same items.
Thanks for giving us so many great ideas!
