WOW! I’m so excited about all the participation in the Before and After party. You all really outdid yourselves and I saw some wonderful projects out there. It was so fun sharing with all of you this past year and I look forward to many more fun things in 2009! For all my new readers, I’m SO glad you are hanging out with me, welcome! And I hope you all got some fresh and new ideas for projects yourself.

Check out my NEW cute little blog button! I’d love to share it with all of you, so if you do the button thing on your blog and enjoy what I do, please take one and share! Just copy the code below my button on the left there & paste it in under Html. Easy peasy!

Winter White…it just has a nice sound to it, doesn’t it? This time of year, I really enjoy the softness of Winter White. Julia at Hooked on Houses is having a Friday linky party of things we are hooked on, so I’m joining her and here’s a look at some things that I really love around my house right now…creamware, a collection I started last year and am constantly adding to.

I realized I have quite a few things around the house that could be called Winter White. Right before Christmas, I was in the local nursery and decided for once to finally try my hand at forcing paperwhite bulbs. So I brought 3 of them home, placed them in some white stones with water into an old thriftstore Italian white ashtray that I picked up while in Florida recently. And I watched them grow. And they opened up and exploded….IMG_3748

Into three blooming beauties. What an inexpensive way to get some winter blooms indoors. I will be doing this again next year and I’ll be sure to start a little earlier. IMG_3747

Lovely Winter white delicate flowers.

After Christmas shopping at TJ Maxx led me to this pretty beauty that I just couldn’t pass up for my creamware collection. A lovely white cake pedestal. IMG_3739

Made in Italy. I just love Italian made ceramics, they really know how to do it right in Italy. And for $15 on clearance, it was a steal. IMG_3751

And perfect for holding my huge cloche and faux pears, it now graces the middle of the diningroom table. So, that’s a look at one of my current obsessions, creamware. You can see a part of it there in the background.

Hoppy New Year, Y’all! I’ll be shopping on Saturday with Eddie Ross and of course, you’ll hear all about it soon.

Have fun with Eddie. I’m jealous!

I love winter white, too. My paperwhites are droopy and still haven’t bloomed all the way yet. Oh, well. Maybe next year. Have a great weekend!

    Hi Rhoda,

I love paperwhites, last X mas I had a red Amaryllis plant that I just adored, I hated to see it die. I found a silk one in a cute glass cube last year, when I put it out this year everyone thought it was real.

Love your little bunny chef…you have quite the collection of cute bunnies.

    Have fun with Eddie.

    Kathy 🙂

    Hi Rhoda,
I have always admired your creamware collection. I am not that familiar with creamware but when my Grandmother passed away she left me her collection of what she called “Milk Glass”. It’s all white, some of the pieces are embossed with a white on white pattern, some have raised designs of fruit, etc. Some ot the pieces are smooth. Have you ever heard of Milk Glass??

    Hey, sweet thang! I just wanted to thank you for the Hobby Lobby tip. Unfortunately, the closest one is 70-somethng miles away. But I’ll be looking while I’m traveling this weekend. Right now, I’m being spoiled by the super-fast connection in my hotel room! It’ll be hard to go back to dial-up. 8-}

    Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

Your paperwhites are gorgeous! I meant to get some this year and forgot in all the “hustle and bustle” of the Holidays….maybe next year.

Have a wonderful time this weekend!

    Hugs!
