Wrist Soiree Jewelry Giveaway

You all know how much I enjoy jewelry, right?  So, today we’re talking a bit about fashion and jewelry.  A great combo!

I’ve known Lakeitha for a few years now, she’s an Atlanta gal who blogs and also has a jewelry business, Wrist Soiree.  I’ve been watching her pretty jewelry on Instagram and realized I just needed to have a few of these.  So, I recently asked her if I could try out some of her pretty pieces of gold shiny bling and share them with you.   She sent me some really pretty gold bracelets that are now my faves!  I used to wear gold a lot more back in the 70’s and 80’s and somehow silver started taking over and that’s what I have a lot of now in my jewelry collection, but gold is making a comeback all over and jewelry is no exception.

I’m loving gold all over again!

I think that jewelry can make or break an outfit and I love adding special pieces to my jewelry collection.  It makes such a difference in adding that bling to your wardrobe.

I love the stacking concept of jewelry now in bracelets and how pretty these all look together.  I am not a timid girl when it comes to jewelry.  I like it big and bold!  I got the large tassel bracelet in Bronze and the Amelia bracelet in clear and wow does that thing sparkle!  I’ve already gotten tons of compliments from wearing these 2 bracelets together.  I was going to get the cuff but it’s too big for my small wrist.

These are smaller tassel bracelets and they are equally pretty.  Love all those colors available in the tassels.

This Xenia bracelet is also so pretty and I’m adding this one to my collection to stack.

Those large Tassel bracelets come in an array of colors and look so pretty on.

rhoda what I wore

I thought I’d show you how just adding some jewelry to an outfit can make you look so much more polished.  I was heading to the dentist in this picture and out for a few errands, so it was a pretty casual day.  Another thought I have is that I’m going to start doing more fashion posts for women over 50.  I’ve had many of you ask me what I’m wearing and where I got some of the clothes and accessories I show on my blog, so I think it would be fun to add that to my blog and start doing a few more fashion posts.  I am not an expert by any means, but I know how important it is to dress my age and NOT look frumpy.  I’ve done a few fashion/beauty posts in the past and you all seem to be interested in that, so what do you say?

These shoes I bought online after seeing them on a friend of mine. They are by Sam Edelman and were around $100, which is WAY more than I normally pay for shoes, but I thought these were worth the splurge.  I’ve also seen other versions of this shoe by Steve Madden and I’ve heard that Target has a version too, which I have not seen in person.  They are made from cowhide fur and I’ve really enjoyed them.

jewelry

I searched online and found quite a few fashion blogs for women over 50, so I know this is a subject that is very popular and mainstream.  After all, we baby boomers are a huge population and we ain’t young anymore! I’m very down to earth in my approach to clothing, but I still like to look stylish, so I’m going to share more posts like these with clothes, shoes, and jewelry.  The infinity navy and cream scarf was bought online at a flash sale site, so there is no link to it, but I’m sure you could find something similar.  This sweater is a Ralph Lauren and I bought it at TJ Maxx, which is one of my favorite places to shop.

The jeans are Levis slim cut jeans and I think a lot of women can wear skinny jeans, you just have to be aware of your body type.  I think skinny jeans can actually make you look thinner, so if you haven’t tried any, give them a shot.   I’m very lucky to be tall and thin and not have to worry about weight and can pretty much wear anything I want.  But. believe me, I have aging issues too.  I hate my saggy knees and will not show much leg anymore.  We all have parts of our body that we want to enhance and parts that we want to hide, so you just need to be aware of what your better features are and show those off.

Anyway, I’ll start doing a few more posts like this along the way and start photographing what I’m wearing and where I got it.  I hope that y’all will be interested in this and I think you will.

wrist soiree jewelry

So, back to the pretty Wrist Soiree jewelry.  I love these two together, the tassel bracelet and the Amelia in clear stones.  It’s a very blingy look and I’m loving it!

Now, here’s the fun news!  Lakeitha is giving away a $50 gift certificate for her online shop at Wrist Soiree!  Fun, fun, one of you will get to try out some pieces from her shop for yourself.  It’s not expensive jewelry at all and considered costume jewelry, but I really love chunky and bold jewelry like this and I am sure you will too.

All you have to do is leave a comment below and tell me your favorite things in the shop.  Please fill out the Rafflecopter widget, checking the box that you left a comment and register your email in Rafflecopter. I’ll be choosing a winner from there.

Please, only US residents are eligible to win the giveaway!

Rhoda, I love the idea for fashion over fifty. Can’t wait to see what you have to offer. Love the chunky jewelry and bling! The older I get the more bling I desire….and costume jewelry is fine with me. I am tall but could lose a few pounds but I too like skinny jeans if the fit is right. Love your blog.

Oooh wow. LOVE the Coco gold and Amelia silver bracelets, especially together. Elegant but flashy enough to be a statement. I think all of us over 50 need a little help to stay fashionable without looking foolish. Thanks, Rhoda.

Bring on the sparkle! Love the Amelia bracelets. Definitely bookmarking that site. Thanks for sharing and love that you will be sharing fashion tips and info. When I was younger it didn’t matter what I wore but now I find myself needing to dress to my advantage.

I love the gold Coco bracelet and necklace. The leather bracelet in either black or brown would be so cute to dress up a casual look with jeans.

OMG…..I love this jewelry! I am loving the tassel bracelet with the silver tassel so it could be mixed with gold and silver. And, I absolutely love the Amelia bracelet. Love your blog and love it that you are going to blog in some fashion ideas for the “over 50” group which also works for us in that “60’s” bracket.

Leather and gold together is great. Add a bit of sparkle, and I would feel ready for any occasion. Glad I found your blog, Rhoda! I, too, love decorating with the old and new in my house and with my jewelry.
