Yardsale Saturday Treasures

I’ve got some fun yardsale things to share with you today, but before we get started on that, here’s a bit of news from Birmingham. If you live here, you might want to listen up on this one. I wrote a blog post just over a year ago about a wonderful shop in Homewood called The Brown House. Charles, the owner of the shop just emailed me thanking me for my post and telling me that he has decided to close the shop and everything is on clearance for 30-80% off! Well, you know how I love a sale. He wrote specifically to tell me about the white English ironstone that I featured on my blog and thought I might like to know. So, today I’ll be stopping by The Brown House for a look-see. And I just knew that some of you Birmingham girls would like to check it out too. Hope you will get by there and see The Brown House before he closes the doors as it’s well worth seeing!

Well, the yardsale season is starting out great, once again. It seems I’m never disappointed. One recent Saturday, the sales were abundant and I really got some great stuff. Got several things from my blog friend, the one I did the dish swap with and she had so many great things (thanks, Carol!), I just had to bring home more. These Pottery Barn candlesticks were $1 each. How can you leave behind something this pretty for so little $$? They are glass and nice and tall.

Old frame

Old chippy wood frame was also $1.

I decided to add it to another old frame I had up here already and lean it on top of my antique mirror.

And I quite like it up there.

Aqua vase

Aqua vase was $2

Aqua throw

Aqua throw, perfect for the beachy guestroom was $5.

Aqua ball

2 aqua/brown balls were 25 cents each.

IMG_4694

I hit 2 neighborhood sales on the same day and found this birdbath at one house for $4. I love garden things and this one was too cute to pass up.

IMG_4695

This solid wood little side table was $5. Someone really had no vision with this one, maybe it came from a little girl’s room, but PINK?! I’m going to change this out in my beachy guestroom for a side table since the other one in there is not as nice as this one. This one is chunkier and has more character. Anyone local want to buy the old table? I’ll give you a deal.

One can of Krylon (from Walmart) Blue Ocean Breeze later, and it’s ready to go back to the beachy guestroom.

Here’s the old table in case you’re interested. It’s cute too!

Birdhouse

Birdhouse for 50 cents.

Vase & pear

White pitcher for $1.

White pear

White Pear 50 cents.

Napkins

Set of 6 nice cloth napkins for $2.

Necklace

And a pretty shell necklace for $1.

Not bad at all. I just love shopping this way, but I do have to slow it down on bringing more home! Did you find any treasures lately?

If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t miss the giveaway on my Review Blog! it will be going on until next Wednesday and you don’t want to miss it.

And head over to Alchemy Fine Living for a fun giveaway too. She has some great handmade items up for grabs.

Girl, you always hit the jackpot with your yard-saling!
It saddens me that so many family-owned businesses are going under.
    Have a blessed Easter!

You did good girl! I’ve been finding good stuff too. Love that little bird house – can I buy it from you? I actually like the pink table, but I like what you did with it better! I’ll be at the Brown House on Saturday morning! I’m meeting someone from Craiglist to pick up a bedskirt I’m going to use for my “new” living room drapes! Can’t wait to see what’s “in store” at Brown’s!

Wow! You did good!!!! :)I especially love the makeover on the pink table…awesome. I’ve never used spray paint on a piece of furniture. How many coats did you have to do with that one can?

I have the very same candlesticks from pottery barn. Let me know if you don’t have a place for those!

I can’t believe how you find these things!
~on the other hand layzing in my bed on Saturday mornings isn’t as productive.

    Have a lovely Easter weekend!
