It’s May and summer is officially here in the South.  The weather is heating up and we all want to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine more than ever.  My screened porch is my favorite place to relax during the summer months, so I thought today it would be fun to share other blogger’s outdoor spaces with y’all!  Real life bloggers have so many creative ideas going and they are doable for real life.  Take a look at how these bloggers spruced up their outdoor spaces for enjoying the outdoors during the heat of summer.

Outdoor spaces Collage

From screened porches, to open porches, front porches, back patios, and decks, there’s inspiration for everyone!  I love seeing how everyone lives during the summer months and porches and outdoor spaces are some of my very favorite spaces in a home.  Enjoy the inspiration and I hope you get a little inspired to make your outdoor entertaining areas the best they can be, whatever the size and space.

worthing court

Suzy with Worthing Court has moved in a new house not too long ago and I love, love her Southern backyard in NC.  This porch has gorgeous vintage touches, color and lots more.

unskinny boppy

Blog friend Beth, with Unskinny Boppy had a beautiful backyard at her old house and she added this really cool hanging ladder light and a colorful rug under her table.  Beautiful space!

Amy from My Life From Home created a beautiful and welcoming front porch entry at her house.  The front door is stunning anyway, but adding a couple of chairs and planters add to the appeal!

monica wants it

Monica with Monica Wants It partnered with Big Lots for her patio makeover and it’s beautiful!  Now I want a full length sofa on my porch!  My porch furniture is from Big Lots too and still going strong. Goes to show you don’t have to spend a fortune!

lovely etc

Carrie with Lovely Etc. has a pretty cream and blue screened back porch. Of course, I love the diamonds since I did that on my porch too.  Why have a plain floor when you can have diamonds, I say!?

3 little greenwoods

Ashley with 3 Little Greenwoods made the most of her Southern porch space with a swing, metal chairs and colorful pillows.  A rug is the best way to cozy up a space outdoors!

IMG_4418

Vicki from 2 Bees in a Pod refreshed her front porch with wicker chairs, a pretty rug and plants.  Small spaces are great for creating a special vibe all the way to the front door.  And that red door doesn’t hurt either!

screened porch 023_20150515

Rounding things out with my own back porch space, which is where I’m spending lots of time these days.  This is from last year, but it looks much the same.

It’s so much fun to see how everyone lives in their outdoor spaces and I hope all of these ideas gave you some fresh inspiration for your own outdoor entertaining areas this year.  Being outdoors energizes me and having a beautiful space to relax is the icing on the cake!  Bring on Summer!

Thanks Rhoda for including my deck. So much inspiration here! Oh, how I would love an outdoor fireplace, but hubby isn’t on board with that one. 🙁

Rhoda, thanks so much for including our porch in your roundup! Those shutters. which are actually repurposed closet doors that someone was going to throw away, are now red!!!

Rhoda, thanks for the roundup of porches, got so many new ideas from this post. It makes me want to refresh my porch. Each one of these are beautiful with so many different designs. I will definitely try my version of decorating from many of these porches. You know how a diy craft person can get an idea and run with it, example: envelope pillows, I can make these using material in craft room, will not cost anything. DIY and flower gardening bring many hours of pleasure to me. Well, I am off to make tea cup pincushions for my young adult Sunday School Class for Mother’s day (got the idea from pinterest),

Nothing says Spring is here like a fresh take on a front porch or back one for that matter. A collection that truly does inspire. Thank you for it. I will have to come back and refer to it often. Okay I can pick one thing. I loved the shutters on the wall with the picture in the center. Great idea!

I just have a quick question. I have an open deck in the back of my house but my front porch is covered. I would like to screen the front porch but almost all of the screened porches I see are in the back. What do you think? Would it look okay, not tacky :), or should I save my money and wait until I can cover the back deck? Thanks!

Hi, Sandy, I’ve seen older houses with screened porches on the front, but never see it on newer ones. I think I’d leave the screened porch for the back of the house, that’s just my preference.

Summer time is wonderful because that means we get to enjoy our outdoor spaces day & night. It’s so easy to get an idea or 2 from each of those porches & decks. Thanks for sharing!
