Last year, I put my big tree in a garden urn that I had picked up yardsaling. It’s one of those plastic urns and it was an OK color, but this year I decided to make it officially my Christmas urn and painted it a bronzey color to better go with my tree and Christmas decor.
I found a can of Brown Metallic Hammered by Krylon Fusion spraypaint which is good for plastic and went to town spray painting my urn.
Now, doesn’t that look a LOT better?! Fitting the tree in there is not a big problem, however, you may want to secure it with some bricks or rocks at the bottom. It has a tendency to slide over, but once it is up and finished, it shouldn’t be a problem. I did this last year and didn’t lose it, so I have high hopes for this one too.
I did put a couple of big rocks in the bottom and that helps anchor it a whole bunch, so if you get a wild hair and want to try this, do that little trick too.
Our Christmas party was so much fun! Good times with our friends and everything was delicious. I’ll report in on that later, too tired right now! It’s been a hectic few days.
Thank you ALL so much for joining the Christmas tour this year, I’m just thrilled with how many stopped by and linked up. I am going to try to get by to every single one of you and see Christmas as your house too, I just haven’t had a minute to slow down and catch up, but I will soon!
I had a lot of fun as a guest for my friend, Shannon with Southern Beauty on Blog Talk Radio, and if you’d like to listen in, you can catch it here, we talked about Christmas decorating. I came in about 15 minutes into the show:
