April Thrifty Treasures

My weekend was fun, how about yours?  I did get out to 2 neighborhood yardsales and it was exciting once again to scour the sales to see what bargains were out there. I’m really being careful these days what all I bring in my house, because I have so much already with furniture and accessories and really do not have room for a lot more, but it’s been fun to get out there again.  Treasure hunting can’t be beat for entertainment!  You know what they say about the thrill of the hunt.  It’s true!

My first stop at the Legacy Park neighborhood sale in Kennesaw, I scored a pair of World Market drapes for $20 and my first thought was my laundry room.

This is a true shot of the color of the drapes, a gray background with vivid blues and greens.  I had a chevron fabric in there, but really thought a floral would be a good mix with my graphic stencil on the wall and the rug in there.

This shot doesn’t show the color that well, but I really do like the mix of the floral in there. This is the drapes I hung from the water lines above with hooks and they hide the ductwork as well as provides a storage closet behind the curtain.  It really adds so much to my laundry room too and for $20 a definite YES.

I do love the mix in here.

On Saturday, my sister and her friend and daughter all met up and we hit another big neighborhood sale up at Bridgemill in Canton, for those of you local. It’s always a fun sale and there were plenty of folks out on this gorgeous Saturday we had.

My sister was looking for baby stuff and found plenty of that, so she carried home a lot of goodies, along with this $30 chandelier made by Thomasville.  It still had the tags on so was definitely a steal. She’s planning to put it in her master bath water closet.

It was a fun day and I really enjoyed getting out there again. I’ll be stopping by more along the way as the weeks go by, but will be limited on bringing home a lot more STUFF. Don’t we all have too much already?!

It’s baaaaack!!  So, today I’m going to link up the Thrifty Treasures party for April, so I hope you’ll share your finds too!

On another note, our cutie pie, Parker, got all dolled up for Easter and I had to share a pic of her looking so adorably sweet.  Her parents are pretty stylish too!  The family pic wasn’t Easter, but a good shot of all of them.

REMINDER:  If you are linking up to the party, be sure and link your post URL and NOT your main blog url. That way the links will always be on there and people can find you months from now.  And if you are linking up a new post, PLEASE link back to my party, so others can find it too!

Happy to be joining the party, Rhoda. You found some great stuff with your sister – and the drapes look great already hung! Mine are hard to decide on – foster, keep or put in the Panoply booths? Thanks for hosting and have a great week.

I’m so glad you brought back thrifty treasures, Rhoda! That has been about the only party where I will click on every single link to see all the fun finds. I haven’t been out thrifting yet this season, (but I’m gearing up for next weekend, lol) so I’ll have to link up next month.

I was reading on FB last night from local friends that the traffic was horrible in Bridgemill yesterday. I thought about going but went to the Woodstock Market instead. Glad you ladies had fun!

Hey, Jill, yes it was horrible! We kept getting jammed up with traffic coming through.

I have those very curtains in our bedroom. They are great because they are lined. I needed some red in them, though, so I took a red sharpie and colored in some small parts of the flowers on four pairs of drapes. It was time-consuming but worth it.

I love the drapes and I think they are the perfect color and pattern for the laundry. Much better than the first ones.

Thanks for the opportunity to participate in the Thrifty Treasures link party. My article includes a pair of paintings I bought at your Upscale Yard Sale last year Rhoda! They look great in my powder room. I just bought two more antique paintings at a yard sale this weekend that I plan to hang in my powder room soon. They were only 75 cents each! Do you have plans for another yard sale this year? Kathy

Hey, Kathy, I don’t have plans for another yardsale this year. I’m so glad you got those bird paintings and hung them up. Looks great!
