Browsing Homegoods with Layla

What better place for inspiration is there than Homegoods?

Cute Ms. Layla came up to Birmingham for a little impromptu shopping trip, so I met up with her at Homegoods and we walked around browsing all the fun eye candy inspiration that is always to be found in this store. Walking, browsing, chatting.  We could have talked for hours.   We only live about an hour from each other, so it is always fun to spend some time with Layla. She was looking for some inspiration for a photo shoot that she has coming up very soon. These rugs had some great colors to work with.

This fun and funky lime green peace sign rug was a throw back to my era, the 70’s. 🙂 Another pretty blue and white rug.  Homegoods always has a wonderful assortment of bathroom rugs. We liked this chunky white framed mirror and it reminded us of the Design Star competition last week.  We liked white better than black.

Prices on these mirrors can’t be beat. Love, love this chair.  I have a thing for chairs. Wish I had room for this one. How about these floral shabby chic pretties on clearance for $90 each?   You’d have to love floral for those though. I loved this striped rug, it would surely make a statement in a room. And their lamps can’t be beat.  How about orange? Or soft blue with pretty shades? Or glossy white ceramic and soft blue shades?

Or turquoise green with a funky print shade.

Lots of possibilities at Homegoods.  No, they don’t pay me to say this, but I love the store.  It’s definitely a go-to store for me!

Thanks for tagging along on our shopping trip!

Ah yes, I too love Home Sense (that’s the Canadian name). Even if I have no intention of a purchase, it’s always nice to browse the isles for great ideas.
    Thanks for taking us along.

What a treat that must have been for the two of you. It is nice seeing you together in one of my favorite stores…I’m a tad jealous 🙂

Well, wonderful ~ I guess I’m stopping at Home Goods after work on Friday! Thanks, Rhoda! It is sad and pathetic how easily I am tempted to shop and spend money.

Like you I am a chair person {and a lamp, pillow, small accent furniture person, too}. : ) I wish I could use those floral chairs, that’s a great price! I’m holding off on chairs at the moment as I may have an opportunity to get some Parson’s chairs that a co-worker from the day job is looking to sell. {Her sister took them, with no real use for them, but I’m offering money, so hopefully money is thicker than blood!}.

I love Homegoods! I just love to walk around all by myself and browse. What do you think of Design Star this season? The way they are decorating things as teams is very different. I liked last season better. I think each designer got to show more of their individualized talent and work. What do you think? 🙂

Hi, Kathryn, I agree, I’m not loving this season’s Design Star nearly as much as some of the others. The team projects are hard to show individual talent, as you mentioned. And all this “find inspiration in food” has got me baffled. I mean, come on, who does that? Most of us can’t relate to those kinds of inspiration, I think the judges are really abstract sometimes. But, it’s fun to watch, so I’ll be watching the finale!

Missy, I didn’t buy a thing. It was fun to look, as always, but I really don’t need anything. IN fact, I have to get rid of some stuff that is piling up at my house. 🙂

Hi Rhoda! Oh, I love Home Goods! What great things they have! You know what? You and Layla look like relatives! Yes, you do! Pretty blonde, creative ladies.
Now look what you’ve done! You’ve snapped in a mirror again. I’ve just had my July Diva post and had 18 gals! Even a little doggie poked in there. Would you mind letting me use this as a returning Diva shot? I’d have to ask Layla but I can always block our her most gorgeous little face! PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE! 🙂

    Be a sweetie,
    shelia 😉

Are you still there? I would be! I always say that if I opened a cafe in my local Home Goods, I would do A LOT of business.
What fun shopping! So glad you had a camera…well, silly me…of course you did.

    That was SO FUN Rhoda!
Thank you for hanging out with me on such short notice!
Bummed they didn’t have the towels I was looking for, but the shoot is getting pushed back for a month or two, so I’ve got some more time.

Look forward to coming up to your house to “talk cameras” soon!

    Layla 🙂

PS…Shelia- you’re welcome to use my mug! LOL!

No Home Goods in my area. Isn’t shopping so much more fun when done with a good friend! Bouncing ideas off of one another is great. And the great thing about a true friend is that they will be totally honest with you—“No, that (whatever) will not look good in your living room”

Thanks for taking me along on the shopping trip! I sure do miss Home Goods. I have one TjMaxx and one Marshalls but neither are as big as a Home Goods! The best place for rugs 🙂

I always get in trouble at that store…and if purchases could be made by clicking blog images, I’d be in trouble right here 🙂 What a fun day you girls had!
