Browsing the Atlanta Gift Market

In spite of the snowy weather and some ice on the roads, my sister and I managed to make it down to the Gift Market, which was going on all weekend at the Atlanta Americasmart.  We did wait until later in the morning, since the temps had dropped to about 13 degrees and everything was pretty much frozen solid on the side roads.  By the time we ventured  out, the interstates were fine and we didn’t have any problems getting around.  We only had 4 hours or so, but managed to get in quite a bit of browsing.  That place will wear you out, walking, walking, and more walking.

I snapped a few shots coming down the hallways and vendors have set up window displays for their wares.  This was a Christopher Radko Christmas ornament display that was just beautiful.

Loved the bright colors in this vendor’s window display and we did pass this shop too, which was full of colorful pieces. 

Lots of beautiful pottery.

We made sure to stop by Bobo’s Intriguing Objects to see the brickmaker’s coffee table that Brooke from Velvet and Linen gave away awhile ago. Click on the link to see the 3 winners of her giveaway and how they used the table in their homes.  It was a fun contest!   I had sent my sister a picture of it and she fell in love with it, since she is looking for a coffee table for her familyroom.

And we got to see the brickmaker’s table in person (actually this one is a little different version with the x base).  It’s a gorgeous piece, but I think it’s too big for her space, so she will look for something similar, but smaller.  We loved it though, as well as everything in this shop.

This mirror really caught my eye too.

The whole space was just gorgeous and I loved all the rustic things.  If I had a boatload of money, I’d be buying one of each. 🙂

Table wares.

Moss pots and topiaries were really popular, we saw.  Loved these.

I found a really neat store and may be able to use them for my new online shop with the Open Sky Project, that I mentioned to you last week.  I’m hoping to get it up and going this week.  I’d love to add some mercury glass pieces to the shop.

As well as all of these pretty things.

Totally fell in love this this huge double door/mirror.  The mirror looks really old (might not be, but looks it)  and I think this is made out of reclaimed wood.  It was gorgeous! I know just where I’d put this.

Lime green pottery caught my eye.

And my sister and I thought these lighted floral stems were really unique, with feathers and lights, really cute for a party.

We visited the Uttermost shop and it is huge.  They have a lot of mirrors and home accessories.  Really nice things in here.

This was Uttermost also. Before leaving for the day, we hit the area where there were lots of jewelry vendors.  I saw women scrambling around looking at all these loose charms and carrying around trays of pretty baubles.  After looking a few minutes, I finally got the scoop.  They sell chains and you can pick out all the charms and baubles that you want to put on them and then they will do it for you, right then and there.  Too cute!

So, I picked these cute charms out…

And made an adorable necklace.  Have you seen any of these before?  This was all new to me, but of course, this trend may have been around for awhile and I’m just now seeing it.  You should have seen all the blingy charms and baubles they had to choose from.  Totally cute stuff!  Not dirt cheap, but not too bad either, most charms were priced from $5 to $15.  My entire necklace priced out at $43.  This will be a fun new accent piece for me.  And if you decide you want to shop, she has an online shop called Art by Amy, so go and take a look.  You can see all the chains and charms online.

So, that was our excursion into the Atlanta Gift Mart.  I really would love to go back and shop.  Who knows, I might have some local clients to shop for one of these days and it would be nice to have some fun new vendors at my fingertips. And I have that online shop that I mentioned opening really soon and I hope to be adding some great items in there too.
