Cashiers Designer Showhouse 2022: Part 1

This past week, I had the special privilege of getting to attend the Cashiers Designer Showhouse and experience that beautiful home in person again. It’s been years since I’ve been (this is their 25th year doing it) and it’s always fun to see. This particular showhouse is usually designed more traditionally (I’d say) than many other showhouses I attend and I think this one is really pretty. It’s bold with color and pattern, yet has a sophisticated air of traditional style with of course modern elements added as well. This classic NC mountain retreat in Cashiers, NC is a treat for the eyes.

I was invited by Cambria countertops to go along with them in a bus ride up and back for the day and I went with a friend of mine, Betsy, so it was a lot of fun. Full day, but lots to see.

The home is located in Fieldstone, the newest neighborhood of the prestigious High Hampton. Featuring 4 bedrooms, 4 1/2 baths, it has work-play areas and is the perfect retreat for modern families. The house has been open since August 26 and ends this weekend, September 4th (today), so not a really long run. I hope you enjoy my pics. I took a lot, so this tour will be in 2 parts. I’ll share the main floor this weekend and the 2nd level next weekend.

I’ll be sharing the designer names for each space along the way.

Front Porch, Foyer, Powder Room: Douglas Hilton, DWH Interiors

Great Room: Holly Laughridge, Old Edwards Inn

It was hard to get pics without people in them, but I managed for the most part.

Dining Room & Kitchen: Susan Vernon, Tribus Interior Design

The kitchen cabinets were a dark cream color, very pretty.

Cambria did the countertops and they are Britannica Gold in a mat finish.

Carolina Room (Screened Porch): Joan Anderson, Joan Anderson Interiors

I love love love the screened porch. Very homey and cozy, with a mix of new and vintage pieces.

Utility Room & Pantry: Lisa Wester, Lisa Wester Interiors

Laundry Room: Lisa Wester

Office: Lynn Monday, Lynn Monday Home

Back Patio: Louise Johnson, Louise Johnson Interior Design

Primary Bedroom: Blackberry Farm Design

Primary Bath & Closets: Stephanie Jarvis, Stephanie Jarvis Inc.

Loved the botanical wallpaper in here.

That’s it for the main floor, so stay tuned next week for the 2nd part of this tour. The upstairs is beautiful too! I know sometimes these home tours are not going to please everyone’s taste, but the designers work really hard on these spaces, so please keep that in mind with comments. I loved all the color, beautiful fabrics, and traditional design of the house overall.

Don’t miss Part 2 of the showhouse, the upstairs!

Wow, that screened porch is my favorite. All the big furniture is so airy looking. I love the counter tops and I do love that bust with the metal wreath.

Lovely! Thank you for sharing these great photos. Did you get any information about materials, such as countertops, primary bathroom flooring, countertops and shower tile? Just curious, mainly about the primary bathroom.

Really beautiful home. I love all of the rugs and fabrics. The decorators all did a great job of putting together very livable, cohesive spaces. Thanks for a lovely share, Rhoda.

I had the opportunity to go last Wednesday with two girlfriends and our spouses. It was beautiful! My husband and I came home very inspired. We immediately started moving furniture. The outside kitchen had the men’s attention. That master bath was amazing to me! That tall plant stand beside the fireplace in the screened porch was so unique. All of the designers were outstanding. Your readers are going to love Part 2. The artwork over the upstairs fireplace is stunning. My friends and I admired the dough bowl with twig candles and all of the bedrooms. I know you will share those! Can’t wait!!!

I really liked the kitchen — especially the countertops. If I was looking for new kitchen countertops those would likely be my choice. Also loved the primary bathroom. It’s interesting to see the color choices throughout the house. Grays had a long run, but there’s definitely a move to warmer colors.

HI, Sharon, you’re right, warmer colors are definitely moving in and I like that.

That screened porch would be my dream destination. I always pay close attention to the light fixtures; someday I might buy a new fixture just because I like it and not look at the price tag. :0 It is good to see color back in decorating.
