Christmas Home Tour 2014: Part 2

Today, I’m back with the rest of my house decorated for Christmas this year.  It’s been nice to get it finished the first week of December and then have the rest of the month to just enjoy it all.  And this year, I really am savoring the season.  This is my third Christmas in my new house and this year it really feels finished and ready for me to enjoy and that’s a good feeling.

My friend, Chris from Just A Girl, hosts a Christmas blog hop every year along with a lot of talented bloggers, so I’m joining this party today and you can find lots more inspiration if you’re looking for it.  Just follow the links and Chris has all the updated links on her blog too.

Holiday tour

If you are new here and coming by from Courtney and A Thoughtful Place, welcome,so glad you stopped by for my Christmas tour.  I dearly love to decorate for Christmas and had a lot of fun this year, pulling out my treasured ornaments and baubles to ready my home for the Holiday season.

Kitchen Collage

living room christmas

I shared my living room and den earlier this year in Part 1, so stop by there if you missed it.

mantel

I’m really proud of my newly planked mantel this year and it was so fun to add those special touches to it.  I love natural and rustic, but also enjoy glitz and shine too, so I’m a bit of an opposites decorator when it comes to Christmas.

dining room sideboard

My dining room is filled with lots of silver and gold this year, making it really sparkle and shine.

dr sparkle

Hope Wish Joy, three words that are special in meaning especially this time of year.

dr silver tree

A vintage style silver tinsel tree on the sideboard, mixed with natural greens and silver ornaments.

dr sign

Have Yourself an Merry Little Christmas sign is such a nice addition to my dining room this year.

dining room to living room

Another peek at the tree in the living room in an urn and on a pedestal.

kitchen to dining

Looking back to the dining room from the kitchen.   Come on in the kitchen, this is where I really get my color on for Christmas.  Lime green and red are the stars in here!

chalkboard christmas

Merry Christmas chalkboard.

christmas kitchen

Since I have a window sill in here, it’s the perfect spot for those little ornaments and a skinny Santa.

christmas kitchen window

Joyful Tidings in the window in green glitter make the window sparkle.

kitchen window

Red vintage style bottlebrush trees, faux paperwhites in cranberries and some hand painted Santa candleholders fit in perfectly on the window sill.

kitchen shelves

Of course, the rustic shelves get some Christmas cheer too.

kitchen pantry

Pantry and looking back to the dining room.

christmas on the island

The island takes center stage with my beloved red and green Christmas tree.  I dearly love this little tree!

christmas island

I picked up this lime green and red cake plate and big platter along the way and love to display it all with my red and green theme.

christmas kitchen tree

I have plenty of ornaments collected for this little tree and it sparkles and shines.

kitchen tree topper

Green and red glittery fronds cascade out the top of the tree.

merry christmas yall

Merry Christmas Y’all, one of the gift tags from Scripted Simplicity.  Love this one!

better not pout

I get out my Christmas mugs and have them ready for hot chocolate or coffee during the Holidays.

christmas cups

A little night shot of the mugs and tree.

rustic shelves christmas

I love piling on the ornaments on the rustic shelves too.  Large oversized ornaments are perfect for display in here.

rustic shelves christmas 2

Extra ornaments get piled in the cloche under glass.

One more night shot of the tree lit up.

So, that’s the rest of my house tour this year.  I sure hope you enjoyed it all once again.  I use the same things for the most part every year, but try to mix it up a little bit, but it’s hard (and I love it all) to change things a whole lot.

The next stop on the blog hop tour is Marianne from Songbird, so don’t miss her beautiful Nordic home.  I know it will be lovely!

I so appreciate all of you being here with me for my 8th Christmas in blogland!  How in the world can that be?  I can look back at my house way back then and am so happy to be in my sweet house this year, celebrating with all of you and my friends here too.  It’s a joy to share my home with all of you!

The winner of the All Inspired Boutique giveaway has been announced and emailed on the Rafflecopter.

where do you store all of these decorations? I have recently thinned all of my Christmas stuff out because of storage issues. I think it would be helpful to do a story on organizing seasonal decorations.

Cathy, I built a special storage room in my laundry/mudroom by adding a wall and door there. It’s perfect for all my Christmas bins. I have about 10 bins and they all fit in that room. I put my tree in the urn behind the curtain in my laundry room. It’s small enough to hide behind there.

What a welcoming and beautiful home, Rhoda! You have such a magical way. I am a detail girl so my very favorite is the chalkboard with the hearts. So sweet. Merry Christmas, Rhoda.

Beautiful Rhoda. I love everything you have done. Very Christmassy. I just started today to decorate because of remodeling. My house is a mess but I wanted to put up some Christmas things in the living room for the grandchildren. Merry Christmas.

Oh my word you have a lovely home! The Holiday décor is so expertly done, but what’s just as inspiring for me is the kitchen paint color. I’ll be painting my cabinets a shade of white soon and I think my indecision over coordinating wall color is finally over!

Your decoration looks lovely, I am still going with mine, I have changed my mantel three times now and gone from real to faux as it kept dying so I am just keeping the centre real and some faux foliage either side. Hope to post more of my home this coming week.

Rhoda, I always enjoy your posts and seeing your talents, your parents and Parker! I wish I had someone around to cook meals like that for me. Your parents are amazing! Just curious if you have a husband, as your house always looks like it is perfect! Do you have anyone to “live” in it? Thanks for all your ideas!

Hi, Dana, no I don’t have a husband, but I have a roommate with a dog. So, yes we do indeed live here and are very comfortable. Of course, pics are taken with the messes out of the way, but there are definitely some messy areas too.

HI, Amanda, I am trying to remember where I found that. I think it was Homegoods, but I can’t be totally sure, it’s been a few years now.
