Even though it’s a little early for Christmas, this just might get you in the mood to get out those decorations once again when the time comes. Last week, I went to a Christmas Open House at Silk in Design here in Birmingham and even though I had visited the shop before, it was a whole different look after those ladies got busy and took Christmas to a whole new level.
I mentioned to the friend I was with that my Christmas decor suddenly felt very inadequate. I think you’ll enjoy the tour.
This greeted us at the front door. Isn’t it stunning? I can’t imagine how long this took to put together.
There were Christmas trees galore and all were amazingly decorated. My mouth was hanging open the whole time.
Over the doors, were simulated HUGE mantel displays. And believe me, around here, there are plenty of mantels this big.
I would love to get this good at making bows and centerpieces.
Red and lime green are still very popular.
Lots of sparklies everywhere.
Cute, cute! I could have brought it all home.
I’ve always loved these preserved boxwood wreaths.
And this faux JOY box was adorable.
Large sparkly bells.
These metal Christmas trees really caught my eye.
As well as these beaded cone trees and the reindeer. SO pretty!
Here’s the large iron tree again covered with glass hanging balls and it was just amazing.
A whole table of silver and mercury glass was hard to photograph, but I loved it all too.
Oooooh, Ahhhh!
Beautiful natural looking wreath.
There was SO much to take in.
I loved the colors in this display.
Gorgeous!
I’m actually over in Atlanta this weekend, spending some time with my family and helping my sister do some decorating. She is really changing out a lot of things in her house and we’ve been doing it by email and phone. She has managed to get quite a few more pieces from Craigslist and I can’t wait to see all the things she has found. I’ll be sure to take lots of pics for you to see too. She’s excited about all the changes and progress. They just got new granite in their kitchen too and she ended up with the same color I got, Napoli.
Come back tomorrow for Part II.

I remain a fan of fairly traditional colors for Christmas decorating, but I ADORE that natural wreath. It was stunning!
Thanks for posting so many lovely pictures. I DO feel inspired!
