{Giveaway is Closed}
The Winner is: #208 Lorene Halfmann
January is an excellent time to be thinking about organization and it happens every year after Christmas. We all start thinking of ways to declutter and get everything in the house in tip-top shape.
You saw the pretty stencil yesterday and today, I’m going to show you the mostly finished room. The wall really does add a soft and subtle backdrop to the furniture in the space. My sister has been shopping on Craigslist, Home Decorators Collection, and with my new collaboration with Lowes, I was able to spend $100 Lowes card on helping her get this space organized.
Oh, what fun! Just for reference, the wall color is the same SW Comfort Gray that we used in her master bath.
Come along and I’ll show you where we are. We were hoping to get this table and chairs painted, but we didn’t get that finished yet. The table and chairs are a Craigslist find for $100. We are planning to paint it a fun Barcelona Orange color in Annie Sloan Chalkpaint. Won’t that be happy down here?
You can see how big the space is in their basement. Really a nice room to use for this. That’s my black bookcase and chair to the right.
Rug was ordered online.
That’s my brown leather sofa too that she is keeping safe for me. Those mirrored closet doors hold all her stacked Christmas bins neatly away. She has so much great storage at her house.
And she’s keeping my island for me too. Lauren painted that cute fleur-de-lis painting.
Here are the really fun organizing pieces she added. The Martha Stewart piece on the left came from Home Decorator’s Collection and she is going to enjoy using that for her wrapping paper and ribbon. The cute cube storage is what we found at Lowes. It came in a box and we put it all together ourselves. It was a bit like Lucy and Ethel do Tool Time, but we made it through. Those fabric storage drawers are great for hiding the clutter and they came from Lowes as well.
We also found these pretty rattan baskets at Lowes and they are another great option for hiding the clutter. Pretty and functional, you gotta love that! Check out Lowes Creative Ideas website for lots of great ideas.
She’s going to really have fun with all this organization at her fingertips.
She also found that pretty bookcase on Craigslist for $75. That’s a deal, I love it.
So, are you doing some organization yourself this month? Did you feel the unmistakable pull of de-cluttering like everyone does this month? It seems that the first of the year is the optimal time to start the year off right and start putting “stuff” in its place.
If you are ready to organize and declutter, now’s a great time for YOU to get in on the fun too. Lowes is offering a $100 giftcard for one of you to spend at your local Lowes store. You can grab whatever your heart desires!
Follow Lowes on their Facebook page too!
All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me what you “think” you might buy if you are the fortunate winner of this $100 giftcard?

{I am partnered with Lowes Creative Ideas blog team to do DIY projects and share them on my blog. I was given a $100 giftcard to purchase products from Lowes.}

I would use that gift card so quickly on some shelves I would fashion to make look like those expensive Ballard Designs ones!!
I would love to buy paint for our basement/playroom! Lowes is a favorite destination for project inspiration. 🙂
I love the big gift wrap unit. What a great room! Count me in for the Lowe’s card. I can always use a Lowe’s card! Lori Lucas
I could really use that gift card to purchase a new rug for my Master Bedroom. Your blog about your sister’s bedroom re-do has inspired me to bring my room up to date!
I need this to kick start my organization!

I really like the cube storage. I’ve been looking at them at different stores. Another thing I need is some more paint. We’re in the process of updating our 1970’s house!
I love Lowes . My favorite store.
I also love visiting your blog. So many great ideas. Thank you
Dawn
They have a dining lamp that I’ve had my eye one. It matches my living room lamps.
I would buy the Dremel Rotary. I’ve had my eye on it for a year and boy do I have a lot of craft projects lined up with it!
I need tools! I have my eye on a cute Dremel…
Oh boy is this something that would be a HUGE help soon!
We are buying a new house and haven’t had a garage before so I’m sure whatever storage pieces they have would be a great use of the card!
I have SO MANY project that I could start with the $100. The first one that needs work is the guest bedroom, that room has begun to get decluttered, but I so need some shelfs for it.
My kitchen is in desperate need of a redo! Thanks for the opportunity!
I’m in an organizing mode til baby comes and I would love to buy storage solution stuff. 🙂
I just recently bought two of Martha’s canvas tote baskets (if that is the right word) to curb the mess in my son’s playroom. Love them! My house needs a whole lot more sprucing up and organizing, so such giveaway would really come handy. Thanks for the opportunity!
I am a DIY enthusiast and run to Lowe’s for this or that about 3 times a week. I would use the $100 gift card towards the pruchase of a new grill for my DIY patio!
I could put $100 towards several things, but I have been planning to revamp my “playroom” in our basement. I am getting ready to paint and would like a new area rug to go in front of the couch.
I would use the $100 towards organizing my bedroom. maybe a shoe rack and storage for clothing
