{Giveaway Ended}  The Winner is #114, Esther.

Once again, I’m back with another blogger friend book.  My friend, Wendy Hyde, of The Shabby Nest, has written a fun and inspiring decorating book, Decorating for Real Life.  It shows real life homes and gives ideas on how to make your home better with a few changes.

With practical real-life ideas for decorating, you are sure to be inspired in your own home. From space planning, color planning, to decor style, she covers the bases for a beautiful home.

Decorating for real life

Each real life home feature asks these questions:

What does this space say?

What makes this space family friendly?

What fears need to be overcome?

What compromise is required?

Then a method to Borrow these Ideas and bring them to your own home.

I want to do something with our bedroom. We have lived in this house for almost ten years and other than being painted it is the same 🙁 I thought all the windows gave the ranch an open look. Instead you can’t do anything with the furniture because of all the windows.

As a newly retired educator I am now filling my time with making changes at home so I need all the inspiration I can find. I keep feeling like I’ve “been there and done that before.”

I have a room we are calling a den but I’m not sure what it is. I’d like it to be a office/library of sorts but have no idea how to begin. I sure could use some help!

We closed in our front porch two years ago and it still is unfinished. I want it to be a library and craft era for the family….especially my girls. maybe this is the year!

Recently moved in November after 23 yrs.in same house. Could use help in all rooms. If just one room, it’s the master bedroom. It’s a large room and looks pretty much undone at the moment. Thank you Rhoda for your blog. It is so inspiring to me.

I would love to read about some fresh ideas for my master bedroom. I’m a single Mom who managed to hold on to the house but couldn’t budget anything for this room and project. Thank you for your blog and giveaway! Happy New Year!

We moved 1.5 years ago into a slightly smaller house. My hubby works from home and the home office looks very hodge podge, almost like it is a room for misfit furniture. I would love to install a bookshelf wall with a small desk for me and get him an awesome built in desk with filing. just want him to have nice space. Building in Billy bookcases has caught my eye. An Ikea trip look to be in my future……

Really, my whole home could use a little help. I would start with my living/ dining rooms. They are the first impression when entering my home.
