{Giveaway Ended} Â The Winner is #114, Esther. Â
Once again, I’m back with another blogger friend book. My friend, Wendy Hyde, of The Shabby Nest, has written a fun and inspiring decorating book, Decorating for Real Life. It shows real life homes and gives ideas on how to make your home better with a few changes.
With practical real-life ideas for decorating, you are sure to be inspired in your own home. From space planning, color planning, to decor style, she covers the bases for a beautiful home.
Each real life home feature asks these questions:
What does this space say?
What makes this space family friendly?
What fears need to be overcome?
What compromise is required?
Then a method to Borrow these Ideas and bring them to your own home.
Great news for ONE of my readers!
Wendy and her publisher are giving away a copy of Decorating for Real Life, for one of my readers. Â All you have to do is leave a comment here on this post, in the Comments below and tell me…

Planning to paint whole house in 2015. Looking for inspiration and this book looks like it would provide me with ideas.
I need ideas to help with a family room update.
My entire house needs a redo. My house was built in 1911. We have made many upgrades the past 34 years. I have no creative talent at all so any help I can receive would be a blessing!!
Which of my rooms does not need tweaking?!! Lets start with the great room. I’d like to make it more comfortable and inviting. Rearrange things and maybe shop the house? Yes, I’d love to learn how from this book! Thanks and Happy New Year!!
It’s my own fault for sure, but I am in my 80’s and have never had a bedroom that felt ‘special’! With some of the ideas in this book, this could be the time to make that happen!! Thanks for the chance!
I need to decorate my master bedroom. It’s plain and boring and I need all of the inspiration I can get.
I need ideas for a sewing/craft room!
I would love to update our living room, change the paint colors go for something neutral & clean however living with a 2 yr old & a 3 yr old decorating is a challenge. Everything I see in magazines or blogs has alot of glass decor so I would love some guidance & advice on how to have a great living room that is kid friendly
I am in need of design help for our family room! Angles fireplace in the corner and windows in strange places! I would love to have this book to help me!
My formal living room needs help! We don’t use it & the furniture in it are items we inherited from family. I would love to figure out what I can use that room for! Happy New Year!
Hi Rhoda, Happy New Year and thank you for doing a give-away. Probably all rooms in my house could use a makeover, but my bedroom the most. It is dark and it is the one room other than our kitchen that we did not do anything with when we moved in.

All the rooms in my house need a re-do. Thank you for the giveaway. I love your blog.
I would love to work on our master bedroom. I need ideas for paint, furniture arrangement, storage. The book looks as if it is full of inspiration!
We just moved into a new house that has an odd sitting room, and I am at a complete loss as to how to decorate thus space.
What an exciting giveaway!! I am always scoring magazines I love (Coastal and Southern Living), blogs such as yours :-), and watching HGTV. I tell you, I feel as if I am paralyzed when it comes to decorating! I even took a hint years ago and started a binder for each room with ideas gleaned from magazines and websites. Alas, here I sit with paint samples, pages torn from magazines and ideas swarming all over my Word document. This book, and the possibility of winning said book, would be able to steer me into decorating my home for my family. A home that is pleasing to the eye but liveable!
Thank you so much for your blogs. I love your ideas and your decorating style is unique. So happy I found you!
Have a Blessed New Year!!
Yvonne
We are currently designing an outdoor kitchen, as soon as we complete that I’ll be ready to get some fresh new ideas for our dinning room. Love shabby nest, and Southern Hospitality as well!
I’m ready for a change in my decorating and this would be a perfect jumpstart! Love all the “southern” charm tips as I recently moved to Newnan and am ready to embrace a southern style!! Happy new year!
My bedroom. It’s been too many years.
Happy New Year. Since my son and his family moved in I had to give up my sewing room and now have everything in my bedroom. I would love ideas as to how to get it organized so I can sew again.
