{Giveaway Ended}  The Winner is #114, Esther.

Once again, I’m back with another blogger friend book.  My friend, Wendy Hyde, of The Shabby Nest, has written a fun and inspiring decorating book, Decorating for Real Life.  It shows real life homes and gives ideas on how to make your home better with a few changes.

With practical real-life ideas for decorating, you are sure to be inspired in your own home. From space planning, color planning, to decor style, she covers the bases for a beautiful home.

Decorating for real life

Each real life home feature asks these questions:

What does this space say?

What makes this space family friendly?

What fears need to be overcome?

What compromise is required?

My entire house needs a redo. My house was built in 1911. We have made many upgrades the past 34 years. I have no creative talent at all so any help I can receive would be a blessing!!

It’s my own fault for sure, but I am in my 80’s and have never had a bedroom that felt ‘special’! With some of the ideas in this book, this could be the time to make that happen!! Thanks for the chance!

I would love to update our living room, change the paint colors go for something neutral & clean however living with a 2 yr old & a 3 yr old decorating is a challenge. Everything I see in magazines or blogs has alot of glass decor so I would love some guidance & advice on how to have a great living room that is kid friendly

My formal living room needs help! We don’t use it & the furniture in it are items we inherited from family. I would love to figure out what I can use that room for! Happy New Year!

Hi Rhoda, Happy New Year and thank you for doing a give-away. Probably all rooms in my house could use a makeover, but my bedroom the most. It is dark and it is the one room other than our kitchen that we did not do anything with when we moved in.

What an exciting giveaway!! I am always scoring magazines I love (Coastal and Southern Living), blogs such as yours :-), and watching HGTV. I tell you, I feel as if I am paralyzed when it comes to decorating! I even took a hint years ago and started a binder for each room with ideas gleaned from magazines and websites. Alas, here I sit with paint samples, pages torn from magazines and ideas swarming all over my Word document. This book, and the possibility of winning said book, would be able to steer me into decorating my home for my family. A home that is pleasing to the eye but liveable!

Thank you so much for your blogs. I love your ideas and your decorating style is unique. So happy I found you!

    Have a Blessed New Year!!

Happy New Year. Since my son and his family moved in I had to give up my sewing room and now have everything in my bedroom. I would love ideas as to how to get it organized so I can sew again.
