Demijohn Bottles

Inspired by photos like the one below, I’ve had my eye on these huge old wine bottles that we are seeing everywhere.   I just found out they are officially called demijohns.  Well, I’m likin’ the demijohns. (from Southern Living, February 2010)

I first took notice of these in person down at an antique shop called The Plunderosa (I’m dying to go back here by the way), on the way to Gulf Shores and even took pics of these pretty old bottles.  I have thought about these bottles ever since and kicked myself for not buying any. But, now I have a couple of them! I was able to do an online party with Willow House and got to purchase these at a discount.  My blue bottle envy has been satisfied.  These are hand blown with those pretty bubbles inside the glass and oh, so pretty.  I filled them up with some turning Fall leaves and they really make the room come alive. So, you can check them out too if they strike your fancy or find your own antique bottles. Note: Even though Willow House is a sponsor, the party was not part of the package. I just love the bottles and wanted to share them with you.

What do you think about these big blue bottles?  Are you craving some for your space too?
