As many of you are fellow Baby Boomers, I thought you all might be interested in this giveaway! Did you grow up watching westerns on television? I sure did! My dad was a big fan of westerns and he gave me a love of westerns also, so this genre was a part of my childhood and I still love them to this days. A man’s man definitely a western hero I think maybe forever. Always wanted a guy who could compare with my hero cowboy. I’ve always loved John Wayne as a child I wanted to be just like him. After I had grown up I have a lot of his ways. Nowadays I watch him with my great grandchildren. I love all his movies. Would have to say Red River is my favorite.
True Grit!
When I saw this post I knew I had to call my 38 year son who is a huge John Wayne fan and get his input. As expected, I stayed on the phone with him for 30 minutes listening to him go through every John Wayne movie and debating with himself his favorite. He got into so much detail about the cast of each movie and the winner was finally “The Comancheros” with Rio Bravo coming in second and Big Jake coming in third. I didn’t realize that John Wayne’s son/grandson were in that movie with him as well. All in all there is no bad John Wayne movie and there will never be another Duke!
Hey Teresa, I loved hearing this! Westerns really made a mark on our generation and the younger ones too.
I loved the one in Ireland…can’t remember the name off hand, but it was great!
I love John Wayne Movies. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I do like The Cowboys.

My father not only worked with John Wayne but he was nominated for a Grammy for writing the only album Duke recorded. AMERICA WHY I LOVE HER.
