Hi friends! I shared this easy chocolate pie many years ago on my blog and recently made it again and remembered how good it is all over again. So I’m sharing it again. It’s called Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie and when I shared it then it called for walnuts, but I always use pecans, so you can use either one you wish.
It’s definitely rich, decadent, and delicious, so you might as well print it off now. I’ve had this recipe for years…you know how you pick up recipes from people you work with? I got this one years ago and still remember how good it was. I pulled it out again recently and made it for some friends. Served with vanilla ice cream, it’s a keeper! And what I love is that it’s so easy. With a premade bought crust, you can whip up this pie in no time and serve it to company with vanilla ice cream.
I don’t make my own piecrusts, so store bought it is! I took better pics this time around so hope you enjoy!
Golden brown from the oven.
This recipe has just a few ingredients and can be whipped up in no time. A great pie for homemade dessert for a special occasion.

This looks delicious! I’m all for simplicity, and this actually looks like something I could do. Easy recipes like this are definitely the reason I made sure to link you on my site so my friends can see. All I can make is snow cream…

Your Choclate Pecan pie looks awesome.I lived in Kentucky for 14 years and our name for this pie is a “Derby Pie”.During the weeks leading up to the Kentucky Derby this pie is available all over Kentucky.I love it.
No question about it….I love this pie.
It is one of those perfect blends of flavor.
Now to get my daughter to make one for me….
Thanks for the recipe!
Must. make.A.S.A.P.
Sounds delicious, but is this chocolate Pecan pie or Chocolate Walnut pie??Recipe calls for walnuts?
Beverly, what I meant was, you can make it with either. Pick pecans or walnuts. I’ve made it both ways now. Delish!
Sounds delicious! I follow you on twitter and always see that you’re working out at the gym . . . so I was surprised to see this recipe on your blog! It’s sounds fantastic. Is it similar to pecan pie, but with chocolate? Can’t wait to try it.
WHY am I on WEIGHT WATCHERS!
xo
I’m expanding out of my fat pants currently, so I’ll have to back burner this delicious little number. 🙂
That looks dangerously good and since we have ANOTHER 14 inches of snow outside today, again in NY….I will be looking to whip up something yummy and this just might be the thing to fit the bill! I happen to have all the ingredients…so will let you know. Overate in Paris on pastries and sweets but I always say its a free pass to eat whatever I desire when I am snowbound..lol.
Am newer to blogging, love your blog…please visit mine if you have a minute, about the building of our new home and my love for design and decor.

This is very similar to an “impossible” pie recipe. Doesn’t get any simpler than that. I just made a coconut custard version yesterday. I will try your recipe next. I haven’t seen this recipe before. Looks like a good candidate for a pat-in-pan pie crust. Thanks!
I can tell already ~~ this is gonna be a keeper!!! Thanks for sharing.
It looks delicious, I’ll make one, not now, we are in the middle of a very hot summer when the ideal is an ice-cream.
Sorry, my English is rusty.
First time on your blog, love it, congratulations.
Hugs from Brasil

Hello Rhoda!
Let me explain my situation today… As you know, I live in Canada and guess what? We’re having yet another snow storm! And all I can think about is eat, eat, eat! I don’t know why, but this cold is making me hungry! Seeing this pie is not helping me! lol
Now, I wish I could go to the market and buy some piecrust and make it now, but since I really shouldn’t drive at this weather I’ll have to crave this until tomorrow. Do you think this is fair, Missy??? LOL
Oh, but honestly… I will have to make it! Yum! 🙂

Looks beautiful. Please tell us – do you serve it with whipped cream or ice cream or just by itself? The recipe reminds me of Toll House Cookies – yum! I’m looking for a dessert for Super Bowl Sunday*, so I think I’ll try it and decorate the top with a little green and gold writing!! Thanks for the recipe!!
[*I am making a cream cheese chicken and broccoli crescent roll braid; along with a tossed salad and Green Bay Packer potatoes. The potato casserole is fun: layered with sour cream mashed potatoes on the bottom, then squash (gold), potato, spinach (green), potato, and cheese (gold.)]
This looks fabulous ! I am so glad to hear you admit that you are not the queen of sugar cookies OR pie dough! What a relief…me either! Thanks for sharing the recipe with us!
I make one VERY similar and I add some bourbon. It’s called Kentucky Derby Pie and it’s always a big hit. So good served warm with some vanilla ice cream. Oh.my!
Hugs,
Kat
That looks so good! I’ll have to make it soon!

Made it last night – SO DELICIOUS!!! And, it’s easy to have all of the ingredients on hand to be able to make at the last minute. Thanks for sharing!
