How are you sleeping lately?
Sleeping is a really good thing for the body and I am one who appreciates a great night’s sleep, aren’t you? There’s nothing worse than being uncomfortable and tossing and turning at night. I’ve had nights like that, but luckily they are fewer and fewer these days. I can honestly say now after sleeping on a memory foam bed for a few months, that I really do love the feel of memory foam. So when Essentia contacted me about using and reviewing one of their memory foam pillows, I said, sure let’s give it a shot. ![]()
I chose the Ergonomic pillow to try out, since I’m a side sleeper for the most part and this one is designed for back or side sleepers. These pillows give the ultimate neck support and that seems to be a good thing too. I was used to a down/feather pillow, which sort of squishes down and takes on your head shape. I have always like a feather pillow because they can move and form to the way you hold the pillow, but they can be big too and get in the way.
When I got in the Ergonomic, it is smallish compared to my big fat feather pillow, but I immediately liked the way it conformed to my neck and head, with my head resting in the groove that makes it a bit of a different shape. And I suppose that is what makes it comfortable. I do like the way that memory foam sort of sinks in and just helps you relax, the same way a memory foam bed does with your body. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about memory foam, but after sleeping on the mattress for a few months and now using the memory foam pillow, I’m pretty sold on the whole concept.
So, how does Essentia differ from other memory foam products?
- They make the only natural memory foam mattresses in the world (like Tempur-Pedic, but natural)
- Made in Canada, but you can find stores in the US too
- Natural foam = breathable
- Seen on Dr. Oz, Rachel Ray, and Anderson Cooper (www.myessentia.com/media)
- All other memory foams are made from petroleum based chemicals
You can check out all the pillows at Essentia.

I am a side sleeper and bought a pillow for side sleepers. It has not worked out like I thought it would. I would like to try this pillow to hopefully get a better nights sleep.
Ooh, I’m torn between the Forma Spa and the Body pillow! I’m a side sleeper too and usually wake up with a stiff neck! Awesome giveaway! Thanks for the chance!

I sleep on some pillows I got with a giftcard from Macy’s..they are Ralph Lauren..but not good quality, sadly lol
I would love to win this because they seem like such good quality and I’ve always been interested in the memory foam technology!
Thanks for the chance to win!

I have a running love/hate relationship with any pillow I try. Either it’s too firm to begin with and I can’t get used to it or it’s perfect when I get it home and a mushy mass of flatness in a week. Would love to try the memory foam pillow!
I have three pillows that I rotate between. Down, cheapy pillow, and another feather. Would love to find just one pillow to use!
I’m using an old down pillow that has lost most of its innards! I would love to try the memory foam pillow.
I use a down alternative pillow but would love to try a memory foam pillow. Have read your blog & I’m in!
I sleep on a Beauty Rest pillow and have to travel with it, but I’d love to try the memory foam!
I just use a “regular pillow”. I’ve never thought to try a different kind so this would be an adventure for me!
I have a Serta pillow made for side sleepers. I toss and turn a lot and I think it is probably because of the uncomfortable pillow. I am getting married in January and would love to start my marriage off with new pillows for the two of us. In addition, our little Yorkie loves to sleep on the pillow with one of us. I’m sure she would appreciate a comfortable pillow, too!
In recent months I have purchased at least five different pillows hoping that they would help me sleep better and ease some of the neck pain I wake to each day. I was hopeful that the last pillow which is memory foam and ergonomic would be helpful, but no such luck. Perhaps the My Essential pillow will be the “one”.
I too sleep on down filled and too have a love hate relationship.
I would love to try one of the pillows…thanks
My husband needs this! We’ve been searching for the right pillow and can’t seem to find it.
I have no idea what kind of pillow I have. Something I picked up months ago in an effort to find a comfortable pillow for a good nights sleep. It is not working out for me though!! I really need this pillow!!
I have been sleeping on a latex foam pillow my whole life. I would love to try out the memory foam pillow!
I sleep on 2 pillows, a poly pillow and a feather pillow combined.
Looks & sounds wonderful!
I’m a side sleeper and also really appreciate a good night’s sleep, which just don’t happen as much as they use to. I’m always trying new pillow but haven’t ever spent over $100.00 on one pillow!
I sleep on my stomach but would love to try one of these pillows.
