Fall Decorating: Living Room, Foyer and Family Room

Fall is the time to bring out the autumn hues inside the house as the leaves will start to change outside. Enjoy this tour of my home for the fall season as I add some color and natural textures around the house. You don’t have to go overboard to add some fall to your home. No piles of pumpkins for me, but do what makes you happy!

Come on in the front door and this is what you’ll see, the living room to the right and the staircase right inside the door. This time last year, that box molding wasn’t on the foyer wall. So glad that Mark did that project last year, what a difference it has made in our home.

A few sprays of orange leaves on the coffee table, along with some white pumpkins is all I used in the living room this year.

I love this room and how it came together. That’s a vintage brass and glass coffee table I found at a thriftstore for $20, one of my best finds ever.

Little faux white pumpkins piled under glass is a great little accent in the living room.

I like to use what I have and so I move things around from year to year.

The foyer table is another area that I love to decorate for the seasons. Fall is no exception so I pull out my tried and true fall accessories and use them differently every year.

That dough bowl gets a lot of different looks throughout the year. Piled with fall faux pears and stems, along with pinecones is always a good look.

Once you collect some natural things like this, you can keep them for years.

This year I really made use of the dried limelight hydrangeas growing outside in my yard and they are so fun to decorate with. I’ve had this little easel and painting for a few years too and love to change it out for the seasons.

Mixing up the foyer table gets my creativity going every season.

Moving on to the fireplace and mantel, I added more faux stems in here.

Faux fall leaves from Michaels and some dried ones too in the pitcher make a pretty display.

Textured wood candlesticks are a great mix too.

That’s an original oil painting of pears that I’ve had for years.

Those fall hued leaves really pack a punch against the white shutters.

In the kitchen sitting area, I added mostly soft greens with the white pottery pieces I leave on my shelves.

Green and white is a soft and natural look for fall.

I’ve had that big pear for years and got it out again this year. It was from Ballard Designs from long ago. I love them mix of wood, white and green tones.
