Hi, friends! Decorating a home seems to be a lifetime adventure at times and it’s always nice when you can step back and feel finished with a room. A room can feel so welcoming after those finishing touches are added and those spaces create the most comfort when we live in our homes day to day. I’m happy to share our family room updates with you today, partnering with a brand that I’ve admired for a long time now. It feels so good to have some final layers in our family room.
I first shared Arhaus with you a few years ago when a brand new Arhaus store opened in Avalon back in 2014, here in the Atlanta metro area (Alpharetta). I had heard of Arhaus many times and so when I visited the store in person, I just loved what I saw. Their furnishings are far from cookie cutter and they had so many unique and well designed pieces that you don’t see everywhere else. When I got the chance to partner with them recently on my family room refresh, I was thrilled to say the least. So, come along with me and let’s see the family room now with a few additional key pieces from Arhaus added in.
Our family room was coming along, but there were some key components missing that I thought we needed to really make this space comfortable and pretty. It needs to function well, but also look good. The main things I wanted to add to this space was another end table, an ottoman in front of the sofa, and a coffee table in front of the 2 swivel chairs we have. This space is shaped a little bit challenging in that it’s more long and narrow instead of a square. I knew I needed to be careful about the size coffee table I added in the room as well as the ottoman. It couldn’t be giant or it would overpower the room. I browsed Arhaus in person and on the website and found many interesting and unique pieces that I could see working in my space. I kept my existing furniture in mind and looked for pieces that would mix in here well.

You can see here that I added a pretty wood and iron coffee table, the Palencia coffee table made of acacia wood and iron, which is 34″ in diameter. I love that it’s not too big but will allow those sitting in the chairs to have a place to put a drink.

Adding both pieces still leaves plenty of room to move around the space. There was a big hole in the middle of the room before, but I love how cozy these pieces make the room feel now. Functional and pretty, just what we needed!

I love the coffee table and it has such a pretty finish without being formal, but adds a casual vibe to our family room.

The mix of wood and iron is so appealing and this type of table would look great in so many spaces.

For now, I just added a simple brass tray with a few accessories, but I’m sure I’ll be changing out these accessories over the months ahead. I don’t want anything too tall here so it doesn’t block the TV which is straight across from the sofa.

The end table is the Arno, which is no longer available, but I loved its classic lines and all wood finish. The dark wood ground our space and flows with the coffee table. I had an inexpensive metal end table here, which I liked, but it was a place holder until I found something else. I’ll use that metal piece somewhere else down the line, maybe even on a porch. That beautiful Art Deco Isla table lamp is also from Arhaus, but also sold out for now. It’s nice to get a new lamp in here as all my lamps are 5 to 10years old and a refresh in lighting is always fun. I love how unique and pretty it is! Mark, of course, loved the Art Deco shape.

In keeping this space in muted tones of beige and blues, I’ve got a little bit of rose/blush in the pillows and thought the ottoman would look great in a darker color and I just love how this Preston ottoman looks in our room. It’s the perfect size at 38″ long for in front of the sofa and when we sit and watch TV, it’s great to put up our feet. It wouldn’t have been as cozy to just have a coffee table in front of the sofa, so I always knew I’d add an ottoman. Cozy and comfortable is how I want this room to function. I may add a little more blush pink to this room later on, since that color really looks good with blues.

Here’s a peek of the fireplace side and you can see there is plenty of room around the coffee table on both the chair side and the fireplace side. I have a little bit of a spring/summer look on the mantel for now.

And there’s still plenty of room for walking through the room.

I know we are going to really enjoy these pieces for years to come. The ottoman is a beautiful shade of smoky blue and fits our room nicely. The blue pillow in the middle is also an Arhaus piece, the Batik Floral, but it’s no longer available either.

I’m really loving all these shades of blue together and how they harmonize in our room. Most of us don’t get to completely start over when we’re decorating a room and adding in a few key pieces can make a big difference.

One thing about Arhaus that you need to know is their product developers travel around the world and work with skilled artisans on their unique items. They use a lot of sustainable materials in their furntiture including recycled natural resources like copper and stone.

The company creates designs that work and play and have many pieces that include functional elements like hidden table leaves, washable slip covers and construction that will last generations. Arhaus is definitely higher end furniture, but they have great sales too.

Your room looks lovely. If I won the gift card, it would be applied to the round dining room table that is on clearance right now!

Another vote for the teak garden bench. I just see it under the rose arbor we’re building this summer. Thanks for the chance. Your FR looks fabulous as does your entire house. I love the direction you’ve gone in with it and how seamlessly you’ve incorporated your two styles and furnishings.
