I hope you all had a great weekend and Easter! We sure did! What a great time with family we had together and we celebrated with both our families on Easter Sunday. Plus, we had the most gorgeous spring weather, which was welcomed after lots of rain and chilly weather so far this spring.
Today, I don’t have a whole fashion post, but I thought I’d share these coral velvet pants I paired with the Soft Surroundings top I shared last week. I did wear that outfit to church on Sunday with the pretty blush heels and white pants, but after church I changed into the coral pants and flat shoes for lunch with my parents. That’s my sister’s dog, Bailey. Their azaleas are in full bloom right now and are so pretty. Ignore the fact that my dad’s detatched garage is in dire need of painting. Here are those items again in case you want to take a peek (affiliate links):
Lauren wasn’t able to come home this week, but she sent of lots of pics of the girls during spring break and Easter. Get ready to smile!
Trying to get them to pose and look cute, that sisterly love came out. Haha!
Then, sweet and adorable came through for the final pic. How cute are Iris and Parker?
On Easter Sunday, in their Easter dresses for church and brunch with the family down in New Orleans.
Parker was 4 in February and Iris is about to turn 2 this month. My sister and I are headed down there in just a couple of weeks for a long weekend visit and can’t wait for that.
Little girls are the cutest!
One day they will look back on these Easter pics and smile at their childhood.
The whole family, they look so cute all dressed in Easter clothes!
Meanwhile, back at mom and dad’s house, we had a wonderful lunch of ham and several sides. I didn’t take pics of all of that, but it was delicious. Then, mom served her tasty coconut cake which is a fave for all of us.
We went outside and enjoyed a few minutes in the backyard with all of us and my sister’s dog, Bailey, who was running around like a crazy boy.
He jumped up in Dad’s lap and tried to give him kisses. Dad is doing well and is ready to get in his garden and plant some things so I’ll keep you updated on that this year. We are so thankful he’s feeling so much better and getting much of his strength back from last year’s illness. Mark and I left mom and dad’s and went back to our house where his family joined us for lunch on our backyard patio. I got the patio all cleaned up last week and had it ready for entertaining. The pollen is still coming down, so I’m keeping it all covered with a big tarp for that and any rain we get. But we are really excited to start using the patio this year and enjoying the backyard.
All of Mark’s 4 daughters were there along with the 2 new babies. That’s Mark’s dad holding the newest little boy and Rose is under the blanket there. She’s getting so big! That’s Traci, with Rose and Kelli (in the coral) is Baby H’s mom. So this is 4 generations sitting here on this couch. It was nice having Mark’s family over for the afternoon and the weather was just perfect. I love that he has a close family, just like I do.
Mark hid some Easter eggs for his 2 grandsons in the backyard and they loved that.
Me and Rose, isn’t she adorable?! She’s the sweetest, smiliest little thing and we love having these babies around. I’m enjoying all of this extended family! I thought y’all would enjoy seeing a bit of our Easter this year, it was such a fun and blessed day. We treasure our families and want to spend as much time as we can with all of them. Hope your day was wonderful as well!

I am in Dunnellon, Florida, and a native Floridian. My name is Rose Bain. I have always enjoyed the Southern Hospitality being from the deep south. The picture of Rose is so adorable. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter.

I hope this makes you smile….but I looked at your first picture without reading your caption…and I was very “intrigued” by the interesting finish on the building behind you and wondered what you had done to the wood to make it look like that! Then I read your caption…and thought, Rhoda can make any background look great!! LOL….Thanks for sharing all the pix…it is really great to be able to take so many pics of our families so we can enjoy seeing them year round and watch the children grow!

Lauren’s girls are precious! I know that there is never a dull moment around those two.
I know that you enjoy Mark’s family. So happy for you my friends. You look beautiful in that outfit. Those earrings look amazing on you.
Oh by the way, hubby and I are drooling over that coconut cake. That is our favorite.
Hugs!

What wonderful family photos! They are so important for generations to come. I’m glad you had a good holiday. I did too! I got to spend a lot of time with my little granddaughters. Precious moments…

I loved seeing those little girls in a normal “situation” and seeing Iris lifting her dress. When my younger boy was that age or a little older he’d drop his pants to anyone and show his superhero underwear!!! that picture brought back memories!!!
Our family is tight as well and I love entertaining them. In fact, I have 3 grands here this week!
Your mom and dad look really good and I love the coconut cake. Mark’s family as well and you’ll enjoy those babies as they get older also!

As always, I love seeing your family! It seems to me that Iris looks like your Mom.
Your parents look fabulous! I love your Easter outfit. You look very pretty with the azaleas. I happened to think that looks like some neat texture on the garage.

Iris and Parker need their own fashion blog…Fashion Over Five! You and Mark are really blessed to have big, loving families. Could you fax us each a piece of that coconut cake?!?

Beautiful pictures of the families, especially all of the little ones. Totally Adorable!!! I’m definitely going to be making that coconut cake soon! Both of your parents look great. Illnesses take so much out of the elderly even the ones not experiencing the sickness 😢 Good to see the spark in both of them! I’m soooo jealous of the BEAUTIFUL azaleas 🌺. Here in Illinois the bunny brought snow and then lots of rain the next day😑
Love all the pictures

Thank you for sharing these sweet photos. I have followed you for years and tho I don’t often comment I do appreciate seeing your home and life evolve. Here in Virginia things are just barely waking up and the weather is chilly, in fact calling for snow on Monday, so I especially love seeing the lovely azalea flowers. I am using this time to plan my newest flower beds and dreaming of warmer days. All my best to you!

Really enjoyed your pictures! We also have azaleas but in Missouri with this stupid cold weather we’re having I don’t know how they will look eventually! 😊 That coconut cake looks amazing!

Your mom and dad make me smile, and those azaleas are absolutely stunning….no one could even notice the garage needing painting!!! 🙂 Family is so very important and seems to become even more so as we age! Love that both yours and Marks are so close! Win Win!!!

Such sweet family memories!

So glad your dad is doing better. I lost my dad in January, and it is so very hard, even though I am in my late 40’s. I know you embrace each day with them both!
Paula says
Love the family photos! Truly so fortunate to still have your parents. Thanks for sharing your beautiful family!
Debra says
Oh my gosh….all the *babies* are so cute! Little Iris surely reminds me of your Mom!
Happy Spring. It’s not that great in Virginia yet…..old man winter is still hanging around a bit. Maybe in a week or so we will have some real spring weather!
Rhoda says
So many people are saying that Iris reminds them of mom, it’s pretty neat that she’s named after my mom. Two Iris’s!

What an amazing beautiful family you both have ! So wonderful that you and Mark have your parents with you still – what a blessing. I can’t get over how healthy and happy your Mom and Dad look. Can’t wait to see some summer photos of your Dad with his garden – maybe you can convince him to make it a bit smaller though – I can’t imagine what work it must be to take care of such a beautiful big garden as he’s had in the past. Is there anything in the world more important than a loving family ? What a blessing !
Rhoda says
Thank you, Patricia, you’re right, nothing is more important than family and it sure sinks in as we get older, doesn’t it?! Mom and Dad are doing pretty well for their ages. We have tried to convince Dad to cut back on that garden this year so he doesn’t work so hard, so we will see if he listens at all. He’s pretty stubborn!

Parker is your mom’s mini-me!’
Love your Easter top and pants!!
