I’m back today with another Fashion over 50 post, sharing a couple of outfits I put together recently. Some of these pieces you’ve seen before and the pants are new, a fun animal print (snakeskin print) . It’s fun to mix things up in your closet and come up with so many different looks from mixing and matching what you have.
Now, these pants might be over the top for some of you, but I happen to like a little animal print in my wardrobe and when I saw these glimmery gold snake print pants at C Wonder, I had to have them. I think these were $15 on that sale. Â These are from the closing sale I found before Christmas and I picked up so many things from this place. Â Too bad they are all going out of business and C Wonder will no longer be around. Â These are skinny pants made like jeans, in a nice stretchy cotton. Â The colors are gold and gray, a mix of cool and warm tones.
I paired them with my charcoal gray sweater and a new gray (it’s not mauve like the color may look) T-shirt top I found at TJ Maxx, by Cynthia Rowley, on clearance for $11.
Similar gray cotton T-shirt.Â
Similar Gray Cardigan from Nordstrom.
Here are a few pieces of fun Gold Jewelry and Black/Gold bangles and more bangles.Â
And I picked out a couple of gold necklaces  (tassel Gold necklace) for you to check out too, love the addition of costume jewelry.Â
I wore them out on a date and to a design event I went to and got compliments specifically on the pants, so I think they were a hit.
Here is a pair of similar snakeskin print pants in a black/gray pattern that I think are also fun.Â
They might not be for everyone, but I do like to step out of the box sometimes and be a little sassy with my clothing choices.
I paired them with my suede booties and felt really cute in this outfit.
Similar suede booties and an Ivanka Trump pair of similar booties.
Wearing the same gold snakeskin print pants, I wore them to a design event too, but this time I paired them with a cream sweater from Michael Kors that I picked up at TJ Maxx on clearance. Â It has gold zippers on the sweater which picked up the gold in the pants.
I paired the sweater with my teal and gold scarf for a little added color and liked how it all looked together. Â The gold in the scarf really ties it into the pants.
Here’s another Michael Kors sweater in cream that I like. And a pretty teal scarf. Â
With my suede booties and gold jewelry, this was a fun outfit too.
Don’t be afraid to have some fun with your clothes choices and have fun mixing things up.
Some of you were asking about how Lauren tied her scarf in one of my posts and I’ve been using this method now too, so did a little video to show how easy it is to tie on a scarf like this.
Hope you enjoyed this fashion post today. Â I really enjoy all different types of clothing, from classic to a little funky, so you’ll see me changing things up from time to time.

Joining Lindsay’s What I Wore Wednesday Fashion party.
Rocking another snazzy outfit, just love how you put it all together! You look like a size 4, same as myself, so if you ever want to clean out your closet, think of me (hint-hint)! 🙂 Live in Abita Springs. Keep styling!!
Jo, Ann, I’m a size 6.
The pants are great but I love the black/gray cardigan.
Another great post, like the interchanging of different clothing pieces to give more outfits. Also like the scarf, I wear scarves in winter time, they can dress up an outfit. I like the suggestion of having your father model, but would like to see your mother with him. You could help them dress for people in their age group. Keep up the great post for your readers, really enjoy your blog. Stay warm during this cold weather in GA. I am a middle Ga. fan of yours, cold in our area, but not as cold as your area. P.S. Has your niece done any more projects in her craft room? I like the pegboard with frame that you shared with us
Hi, Theresa, her craft room looks the same, but she does enjoy having it.
I really appreciate that you have shown the links, however the boot link for the 6PM.com just took me through to the site. I would have to scroll through all the boots to find the ones similar to the ones you have (which I like) so I just gave up. I would be happy to give you a commission for the boots purchase but didn’t feel like spending the time scrolling through to find the correct link. Just a suggestion……Molly
THanks, Molly, the link is supposed to go straight to the boots. I just added it again & it went straight to the booties for me.
As always, your outfits are great! I love the snake print pants with the booties.
Rhoda, you look like a million bucks and I love your style! I went shopping last week and came home with a new look-skinny leg pants, long sweater, and booties! I’m a little chubby but the look worked. I kept thinking about you when I was trying on the booties and was thinking what a positive influence you’re having on ladies of our age.
HI, Jane, that makes me feel so good that I inspired you to go shopping. I’m so glad you found some skinny pants and booties that worked for you. I absolutely believe that all shapes and sizes can make this look work for them.
I LOVE the pants but I wouldn’t use the “S” word since I hate those things! Great looking outfit!
Rhoda,
Thank you so much for the scarf tutorial! And as always, love this week’s fashion post – that Michael Kor’s sweater with the side gold zippers is to die for!!!
Love LOve, LOVE those pants. Both looks rock, but the scarf really plays well with the pants. Keep thiese posts coming. BTw, have you ever considered a wispy bang?I think you’d look really cute with that.
I love this series!! You always look gorgeous!! xox, Emily
I have enjoyed reading your blog for 4 years. I don’t want to be labeled a hater but ENOUGH with the fashion over 50!!!!
Hey, Stephanie, thank you for reading so long, I do appreciate it. I have gotten a huge positive response to the fashion posts, so my plan is to keep doing them. I know I can’t please everyone, so hopefully you’ll just not visit the fashion posts and come back when you want to.
Rhoda, truly, I so love the new “Fashion over Fifty,” segment of your blog. You are one of the perfect examples of “women of a certain age” who refuse to give up fashion and looking good (in your case, Rhoda, really good) because they’ve reached an arbitrary age milestone in their lives. And it is arbitrary to my mind. There are women who are in their 20’s, 30’s, or 40’s who could not hold a candle to you when it comes to looking healthy, attractive, and fashionable. I believe I’m in that same mold as well. I never leave my house without doing my best to look, most importantly to me, presentable, makeup and hair, but also wearing my best casual to the grocery, but not wearing necessarily the same outfit going out to dinner, a play, or the symphony. It disturbs me now that casual attire is acceptable in any of the venues mentioned above. Is nothing “special” anymore? Yet people will be watching the Academy Awards this Sunday, mostly to see what the female stars are wearing. Makes no sense to me, Rhoda.
Rhoda, typo on my surname…it’s WILSON not Wilsom. Sorry about that, especially for me making that mistake. I pride myself on reading my posts before I send. “Now I sound anal don’t I? Sort of like Sheldon Cooper from one of my favorite sitcoms, “The Big Bang Theory.” Hate that! However, I really like your blog…a lot!
Love a little animal print! Looking great!
