Hey friends, the month is ticking away and we are growing closer and closer to Thanksgiving Day. So looking forward to the Holiday season this year and we have so many fun things going on. Â I’m currently decorating our house for Christmas and look forward to getting that finished very soon. Â Lauren and her family will be home this weekend and we have a little girl’s trip planned. Â My sister and I, along with Lauren, Parker, and Iris are going for an overnight stay to Bryson City, NC to ride the Polar Express train. Â It sounds so festive and fun, lots of great memories to be had! Â We’re leaving the guys at home for this one.
I’m back today with Fashion over 50, sharing one more Old Navy find, khaki pants. Â I love khaki or camel with black and it’s great for Fall/Winter months.
I wore this outfit to church on Sunday and layered up as it was a little chilly that day. We’ve got rain again this week, so it’s been dreary around here. I dearly love sunshine this time of year. I can take the cold so much easier when the sun is out.
These khaki pants will be great for all seasons. They are a nice crisp fabric and I think they will wear well. They aren’t skinny pants, but slim and ankle length. Â I paired them with the black cardigan I shared earlier, which I’ll link again.
I just wore a long sleeve black top underneath and this graphic scarf, which I don’t remember where I got. Â I wore socks since it was cold that day and they only showed when I sat down, but I think I’ll wear either shorter socks or trouser socks next time if I need warmth. Â I’ve had these booties for several seasons, from American Eagle Outfitters.
Leopard earrings from Just Christi’s. She sent me several pair of these fun earrings in all different colors. Â I just love scarves in winter months and find it’s a great way to add some pizazz to an outfit. This is my favorite way to tie a long scarf and I have a video on my sidebar how to tie it. So simple and easy!
My camel coat is getting a lot of wear these days, it’s the perfect weight for most chilly days.
So that’s it for this week! Thanks as always for stopping by. Â I just love black and camel together. I have a lot of black in my closet and it always works.
Here are links to what I can link to that I’m wearing. These are not the same booties, but similar.
Have a great time in Bryson City. The kids will love the train ride. We go there every fall for our “leaf vacation” and love that little town. You’ll make some great memories with your family.
Thanks, Bonnie, we are so looking forward to it!
I really like this outfit. I needed another idea on how to wear my khaki pants and this is perfect. I already have all the other items so this will be easy to put together. Did you have to make reservations for the Polar Express Train ride way in advance? My granddaughters would love that. Also , where will you be staying? This looks like a perfect little trip to plan for them.
Hi, Lynne, Lauren made reservations back in mid-October, but you might still be able to get in. We are staying at Mariott in Cherokee, Lauren has points there for a free room. It’s going to be a fun girls trip!
You look gorgeous in that outfit !!!! My favorite color combination!
Hi, Bev, thank you, can’t go wrong with black, white and camel.
Your girl’s trip sounds like a lot of fun! Wish the Polar Express was closer to us because our Grandkids would love it! Your outfit today is very pretty and goes nicely with your front door & porch! Nice background for your black & tan.
My mom went on the Bryson City Polar Express train just last week! She and her girlfriends were in Pigeon Forge and did that on the way home! She even got a bell from Santa! Our family rode the Polar Express in Palestine, TX 2 years ago. It was magical! We didn’t, but lots of folks wear their PJs on the train ride! I’m sure that the girls, especially Parker, will love it!
Oh, that sounds fun, we can’t wait!
Of all the outfits you’ve been putting together I like this one the best! Looks great!
Thank you, Rebecca, I’m liking it too!
Thanks so much for sharing your black and camel outfit. I love to pair these two colors in the fall/winter months with a little touch of leopard, too. I do admire the long cardigan and will be on the lookout for one!
You can’t beat this color combo and leopard is a great touch!
What a fun girls trip, everyone will love it. We did the Bryson Train 2 summers ago, waiting for our grandbaby to be old enough for the Polar Express! Love your outfit!
You mentioned wearing your black sneakers for most of your Cape Cod vacation. Just wondering what brand they are and what they look like
Hi, Diane, I shared them last year and here’s the post. They have a gel sole and are very comfortable and work with jeans and casual clothes. I’ll probably take them with me on the cruise too. The brand is Adidas.

I Love the black and Khaki/Camel too–Y’all are going to enjoy the train ride. We haven’t done the Christmas version but my husband and I did the regular ride one summer and it was great. Can’t wait to see you blog post about it with pictures. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!
Rhoda,
This is a great look for you. I agree about changing the socks. It seems all the adds show people not wearing socks or wearing footies instead of socks.. It would seem to me that trouser socks when it is cold would be a necessity!
Hi, Lorraine, I usually do wear the shorter no show socks with these, but it was cold that day, so I put those on. Next time, I’ll do it differently.
Cute outfits as usual! While in Bryson City, your girls will love a quick lunch or snack at The Filing Station just down the street from the train station. Don’t miss their amazing ice cream sandwiches with inventive combinations of fresh cookies and ice cream. The Punch Bug is my favorite – raspberry ice cream between coconut chocolate chip cookies!
Thank you, Barbara, I’m taking notes, sounds great!
