I’ve got a few outfits to share with you for Fashion over 50, from when I went to New Orleans. We had some nice warmer weather while we were down there, but I also wore bootcut jeans and my cowboy boots a couple of days.
I do love cowboy boots and treated myself to a nice pair a couple of years ago for my birthday. These are Tony Llama brown boots and after I got them broken in, they are really comfortable. These are square toed too and I think might be more comfortable than the pointy toed ones. I can wear these for hours. If you are in the market for cowboy boots, go to a good place that carries them and try on many pair before you decide on one. That’s what I did at a local place in Marietta, Horsetown. They have 100’s of boots and this pair was perfect for me. They are nice and broken in now and feel good. Cowboy boots might not be for everyone, but I sure love mine. Of course, you can wear any boots with bootcut jeans too.
These bootcut jeans are by Miss Me and I really like wearing them. They are a little lower cut than I usually like, but with a longer top, they are manageable and don’t slide down too far. I actually like a higher rise rather than a low rise jean. I’m sure you know what I mean if you’ve tried on jeans lately. Some of the jeans out there have a really tiny zipper. I prefer jeans that land right under the belly button for the best comfort. I don’t like high waisted anymore either. I can stand a little low rise, but not extremely low.
The black sweater with white trim is cashmere and my sister got it for me for Christmas. It came from Steinmart. I added the new white faux fur vest that I picked up at the Atlanta Mart on my shopping spree. I’m really enjoying this piece too. Nice vest to layer over lots of things and it’s warm. The scarf is from Steinmart too, on sale of course. I love adding scarves to my wardrobe to mix things up a lot. The vest is faux fur on the frontside and sweater material on the back and the brand is Lisa International.

Miss Me jeans also have a lot of bling on the back pockets and you can choose LOTS of bling or less bling. These are sort of in the middle. I like that they are form fitting through the seat and thighs and then flare out at the bottom for boots.
Here’s a look at my Tony Llama brown boots. When wearing boots, I always make sure the jeans are nice and long. I like for them to cover the back of the boot and almost touch the ground. High water bootcut jeans = not a good look!

Here’s another way I wore the Miss Me jeans in New Orleans. You’ve seen this aqua sweater before that I ordered online last year. It’s lightweight too and I layered the faux fur vest over it for a little more warmth.
Added a pretty infinity scarf and it made a nice casual outing outfit.
We were going shopping that day and it was very comfortable. If it gets too hot, I take off the vest. Lauren got me that pretty scarf for Christmas.
Here’s a closer look at the square toed Tony Llama boots.
Since you all liked seeing a different body type than me, I asked my pal, Vicki, to do her version of jeans and boots and she came up with a cute jeans and boots outfit, with flowy sweater and scarf. I will be asking some of my real life friends to model for me for future posts too, to get ideas on all different body shapes. Vicki is on a mission to lose weight and has joined a weight loss program that some of my blog friends are on. She’s lost 11.6 pounds in 3 weeks and I’m so proud of her. If you are interested in learning more about the program she is on, she wants to start coaching and you can get more information from her at her email address: [email protected]
So, that’s another fashion posts on cowboy boots and bootcut jeans, another favorite combo of mine during the winter months.
Do you have cowboy boots and are you comfortable wearing cowboy boots? I’m not sure they are for everyone, but I sure love mine!
