Fashion over 50: White Pants & Spring Colors

It’s definitely white pants weather for me now that summer is just about here, according to the calendar.  From our high temps lately, summer is most definitely here in Atlanta and I probably won’t be wearing scarves a lot more this summer unless I’m strictly indoors for the day.  But, today I’m showing a few scarves I got recently that are colorful and casual too.  These are all outfits I wore recently for different occasions.

white crop pants

These white cropped pants from Banana Republic (affiliate link) and the C Wonder coral and white top, you’ve seen before too, but this time I paired them with my wedge tan sandals that I got from TJ Maxx.  Love these sandals a lot.

coral top

As you may have noticed I love turquoise jewelry a lot too and mix it up all the time with many of my outfits in all colors.  Coral and turquoise make a wonderful pairing, so I’ve started doing that a lot lately too.

turquoise jewelry 3

The watch I’ve had awhile (from Everyday Icing Facebook sale). The bracelet and those pretty gold hoop turquoise earrings came from a local shop and designer, Knot and Bow Designs.  I went to a jewelry show that she was at and loved these pieces, so added them to my collection.

That cute ring is new and I got that from Pink House Style.  They have pretty scarves and jewelry and sent me a few things to try out. I love, love that little Cowgirl ring with leather and turquoise. That stone probably isn’t real, but it’s pretty anyway.

turquoise jewelry

More of my turquoise jewelry collection. I got this necklace and bracelet set at the mart last year. The stones are definitely real something, but not sure what they are. I know there are look alike stones that look like turquoise, but aren’t.  The bracelet is fun to mix up with my other pieces.

white jeans turquoise cardigan

I went on a thrifting outing a couple of Saturdays ago (on the big bus with Tyler & Kerry that I shared last year) and wore these white jeans, turquoise T and my cardigan from C Wonder. It was a beautiful spring day. White jeans from Target a few seasons ago. I just got a new pair of white jeans that I really like too that I’ll share soon.

Shoes I’ve shared before and these are my comfy shopping shoes from Sam Edelman (affiliate link).

Similar blue cardigan (affiliate link).

turquoise cardigan and scarf

This scarf is also from Pink House Style.  I love these colors!

turquoise and white

So this is my idea of shopping comfortably and fashionably casual too.

jacket and scarf

This pic isn’t so clear, but you get the idea.  I’m usually getting dressed, running to get out the door and my roommate helps me take pics and sometimes it too hurried.

I wore this outfit to the ASO Decorators’ Showhouse tour. Gray cropped pants from Ann Taylor, hot pink T from C Wonder and a jacket that I’ve had for a long time in gray by Kenar.

The pink and turquoise T’s are both alike and from C Wonder. Great little tops, but unfortunately I can’t link to them, they are out of business.

This T-shirt in aqua  (affiliate link) is cute and looks fun.

These gray jeans (affiliate link)  from Talbots look similar.

pink top gray pants

Added my turquoise jewelry and it made a nice look.  I rolled back the sleeves on the jacket and the lining is gray and white striped.

life stride flats

Flats are by Life Stride and I got them a few years ago at Macy’s.  They are comfy too.

colorful scarf

This scarf is also from Pink House Style. They have lots of colorful and different types of scarves and this one will be fun with a lot of outfits.  I love that one side is herringbone stripes and the other is floral.

mothers day 2015

I wanted to share all of the fashion we wore for Mother’s Day this year. It was such a great day with family. We collaborated ahead of time and came up with a turquoise and coral theme for our clothes.  Mom got that new jacket for her birthday from my sister, so it all worked out well.  My scarf is from Oasap Limited (affiliate link) and it has such great colors and is so inexpensive. That’s the same T I have on above from C Wonder.

We had exactly 60 seconds to take a decent picture and then it was this…..

mothers day

Little miss Parker can’t sit still for very long these days, especially when you take away her spoon. Oh well, at least we documented the day and we are color coordinated to boot!

mom and dad

I knew you’d want to see a pic of mom and dad too, so this is for all of you.  Hope you all had a great Mother’s Day too.

That’s Fashion Wednesday for this week!

Some of you may have missed this scarf tying tutorial I did, which is my fave way to tie scarves at the moment:

As always, I really enjoy these posts. You always look so pretty and put together and I believe turquoise blue and that green are definitely your colors. The family pics are great. I love how you are color coordinated and I also really like the one where everybody is not posed. That’s real life, ha! I also want to tell you how I appreciate how I can depend on your post above most others to be consistently posted regularly, too. Thank you for that! I realize with others, life happens, but it doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate what you do! Have a blessed day!

Pretty colors. I do not wear scarves much at all once it warms up. And if I do, they have to be away from my face/neck – just too warm. I have a couple of gauzy ones. Love the colors with the cardigan outfit, but not digging those shoes with that outfit. I like white pants also and actually have a similar coral/white shirt (no turquoise on mine) – but like the scarves, no long sleeves for me this time of year either, unless it were unusually cool. We’re warm here in TN!!

Well Rhoda, after resisting coral for many years because being a “Winter” I felt it was not my best color, my DIL, Daughter and you have convinced me to give it a try. I purchased a coral skirt and I really like it. I think it does best when it is not right up against my face. I wore a white top and turquoise jewelry with it and it was a hit. I tend to gravitate to turquoise, fuschia and black! I did need to mix it up a bit. Thanks for sharing…love that pretty picture of the ladies of the family in their coordinated clothing. And I always enjoy seeing your mom and dad.

Rhoda, you look great! You are as pretty as your home is tasteful and lovely. I’m crazy about the blue and green striped scarf in one of your photos and would love it if you could share how you tied it. I, too, always love seeing your family photos. I feel like you’re all my neighbors and have the same concern for you as I do for my actual neighbors. Ain’t the internet grand?

I love the scarves but how in the world do you wear them without burning up? I love scarves, have a whole drawer full of vintage scarves, but lord have mercy it will throw me into a hot flash faster than you can say hotterthanhell in the middle of July. Any tips?

Hey, Gladys, I hear you. I don’t have hot flashes much at all, but in the summer I do get really hot The humidity gets me too. I will not be wearing scarves all into the summer unless it is an indoor event. But the spring weather has had some cool days and the lightweight scarves were fine. If you can’t wear them, don’t worry, just find some colorful jewelry instead.

Once they turn on the AC here, you always have to bring along a light jacket , sweater or scarf. That draft of cool air when you sat down usually turns into a frigid gale by the end of the dinner! Putting a light scarf around the neck will let you enjoy the rest of the evening. Of course, it comes off as soon as you step out into the heat.

Hi Rhoda! You always look crisp and cool. Just wondering how much you iron? I avoid blouses , as they stay in my ironing pile for weeks.

Patsy, I hate to iron, so I put it off until necessary. If it looks wrinkled, I will get the iron out before I put it on, but I try to avoid it too. I hang up many of my tops and sometimes the wrinkles fall out.

I love that turquoise and lime scarf, too. How about if you send it to me in Wisconsin for the summer? It rarely gets too hot for a scarf in these parts. Oh, you don’t trust me to send it back? Well, then where can I get my own scarf just like yours?
