Fashion over 70!

Yes, you read that one right!

I’m not there yet, but I have a special guest today.  I met Ginny and her husband, Jeff, last year at St. Simons when I was on a media trip there. They are from the Sarasota area in Florida and such nice folks.  So, this year they were on the St. Augustine trip with our group and we got to catch up again.  Ginny is one smart lady and has been a CFO in her former corporate life, with accounting being her strong suit.  She now works with her husband and they do travel writing in syndicated travel columns across the country.

I think Ginny is such a stylish lady and get this, she is 72 years old.  I think she looks amazing and so put together and so I asked her if I could feature her on my blog.  She was very happy to let me do that and we took pics of her while in St. Augustine.

I don’t have the particulars of her clothing brands, but I thought you all would love to see Ginny and how she is aging so gracefully.  It inspires me to see that!  Ginny told me that she regularly does yoga and I’m sure that helps her to keep in shape as well.

Ginny

She’s wearing straight leg pants in a soft gray and a pretty black camisole top to beat the heat, with silver sandals.

I  just love Ginny’s stylish and elegant haircut and color.  Hair styles make such a difference as we get older and Ginny’s style is perfect for her face.

236

It’s a bit asymmetrical and whispy and looks great.

235

I took a few angles of her haircut, so if any of you need some new ideas, you can try this out. Notice her simple, but stylish silver jewelry too.

Doesn’t Ginny look fantastic?

249

Gray jeans and a printed summer sleeveless top looks very stylish and cool.

Ginny is one stylish lady and I wanted to share her look with all of you.  I know I have many readers over 70, so hopefully you can get some ideas on clothing style, hair, makeup, and accessorizing from Ginny.

Thanks, Ginny for letting me feature you!

Way to go, Ginny. I hope I look that good in twelve years two months. I love to see older women dressing stylishly instead of frumpy.

Love her haircut on her! Not everyone can do that cut though but it looks amazing on her. 🙂 Love her black top and she still has a nice figure to wear things stylish & cute! Great job, pretty lady!

So many women go short as they age, but they end up with a modified men’s haircut that does nothing to complement their features — too severe. This cut is short, soft and sassy – perfect! Maybe it’s the longer layers around the face? Way to rock the short cut, Ginny!!!

What a beauty…with great arms! I’d love to know if she was just blessed with great biceps or if she has a workout routine. She definitely has some ‘good genes’ going for her. (And has taken care of herself, obviously.)

Wow! I’m a devoted reader of your blog, Rhoda, but will admit I am not a fan of your fashion posts…not that I don’t think you look wonderful (you do!!), but I enjoy your blog because it’s a decorating blog…usually when I see that the post is a fashion post, I sigh and skip the post for the day…BUT…oh goodness, I have to say your friend looks aMAzing!! So glad I read through it! She has nailed the stylish, yet totally down-to-earth look…and i do think that the twinkle in her eye/joyful countenance is more beautiful than anything she might be wearing.

Good job Rhoda. She not only looks fantastic but IS fantastic. Her mind operates like a well-oiled machine.

I am proud to be married to her for well over three decades.

And yes, she does yoga and we bike together regularly.

I wish all women would take care of themselves like this. It seems to me that once a woman hits 50, they give it all up. It’s so important to keep ourselves up and show the world and ourselves that we are beautiful no matter what age we are. Why should women in their 60’s, 70’s and 80’s look like the typical little old granny? Ladies, paint you nails, wear your makeup, get your hair done, wear stylish clothes, just keep being beautiful. Make your grandchildren proud!
