Once again this year, another Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles magazine, Home for the Holiday’s Designer Showhouse is open to the public for viewing. Â This one is a big one! At 15K s.f. (yes, you read that right!) Millwood Manor as the home is called, was built to resemble Scotland’s Stonefield Castle, with aged limestone facade and a slate roof. Â With lots of light-filled windows and doors, the home is a showplace. Â I am always happy to tour the home, with rooms designed by top talent in the design industry in Atlanta. Â It’s always inspiring to see what they are up to! Â I took so many pictures that I’ll have to divide this into 2 posts, so come back next week to see Part 2.
The house will be open to the public for touring from November 20 to December 13, 2015. Â It’s on the Northside of Atlanta off Mt. Paran Rd. and you can find all the information at Atlanta Holiday Home.

It’s a magnificent house, which is no surprise in Atlanta. Atlanta is full of gorgeous stately homes. Â I hope you enjoyed the tour of this year’s Home for the Holidays house. If you are in the Atlanta area, you can go and tour in person!
Hmmm, maybe the rest of the house is beautiful but I found it, other than the family room, rather dreary. I like your house so much better!
Designer houses are a compilation of so many things, so it’s not real life for most of us, but I sure like to look at the elegant furnishings. I hear you though!
Maybe it is better in person, but I tend to agree with Cindy. Kind of ho hum and not very welcoming or homey. Just my opinion and I don’t mean to insult the designers. Maybe I’m just not sophisticated enough to get into this look! Haha.
I didn’t find anything greaat about it. The only thing I liked were the lanterns in the kitchen and the furniture on the covered terrace. I didn’t care for much of anything about this house. I didn’t like the design outside either. It’s not for everyone but I’m sure some folks were wowed by it hence, we all like different things.
I actually really loved the house when I went yesterday! Can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures!
It’s all about the details. The details of this house were made to make the life of a family easier. There was something for everyone. The downstairs powder room was to die for.
