Feature Friday: Georgia Beach Cottage from House Beautiful

Atlanta designer, Suzanne Kasler, never disappoints and this beach cottage in Georgia featured in House Beautiful is another winner!  Using pinks, soft blues, and gilded accents, Suzanne transformed this Sea Island cottage into a peaceful abode.

I wouldn’t have thought that I would have loved all the pinks and blues together, but it really is a beautiful house.  Going anywhere close to pink after all the mauve phases we went through, would make me want to run the other direction.  But of course, Suzanne does it masterfully.

So, take a look and let me know what you think about pink and blue together.

Love the dining room.

Could you live with this color pink?

The gilded accents are just lovely and I love the nailhead on this chair.   Gold is making a big comeback, have you noticed?

Beautiful breakfast nook.  I was a little surprised that she used such a fussy window treatment, but it is very pretty.

Here are the blues.

Love this desk.

And this whole room is pretty.

What did you think about this coastal cottage?  Do you like it with all the pinks and blues?

Although this is a very pretty home, it is not, at least in my opinion, a beach house look. It looks more like a pied a terre in Paris.

I love this house! I am a blue person – probably have too much in my house but I love it. I like the pink – I never really went through the mauve phase but I understand how you feel there. 🙂

I LOVE decorating with pink and blue. I live in a condo overlooking Lake Michigan. The colors of the lake and sky inspire me to use these colors It takes some effort to pull it off without having your house look like a baby’s room. I like how this decorator used turquoise and grey to add some sophistication to the light blue.
