Feature Friday: Migonis Home

I continue to be amazed at all the beautiful blogs out there and Jen from Migonis Home is another blogger who I’ve recently run across on Instagram.  She’s been blogging 5 years, so I have no idea how I’ve never been to her blog before.  She and her hubby love fixing up houses and they bought their current older home 5 years ago and have been renovating it ever since.  It’s charming and quaint in a small town in Massachusetts.  I just love her style and what she’s done to this house and I think you will too!

Jen shares the story of how this house came to be in her Home story page and after driving by the house and falling in love, I loved how she wrote a letter to the homeowner telling them how much she and her husband loved the home and would love to raise a family in it. They ended up getting the house, even though it was out of their price range.  The owners accepted their offer. I love stories like that!

They did some major renovations on the front of their house to improve symmetry and looks of the home and it is so cute and quaint.   A window was added  in the middle and a front porch across the front.

front porch

Front porches are so welcoming and great to have.

A-Tour

I love how simple and classic the front door is, with navy blue paint and numbers.

stairs

Inside has seen a lot of work too.  Love this new jute runner that Jen added to her stairs.

family room

The family room is a large space with several seating areas for entertaining.

family room 2

Jen’s style is classic, yet modern.

kitchen 3

The kitchen definitely speaks to my heart, with white cabinets and dark wood floors.

kitchen 2

A tin backsplash creates a vintage feel and the marble countertops are just beautiful.

kitchen

I love how it opens up to the dining area.  Such a beautiful space, with the wainscoting on the walls.  That adds such a nice touch.

kitchen sink

A look at the sink, faucet and backsplash.

master bedroom

The master bedroom has a gorgeous fireplace and the bedding and striped curtains create a cozy haven.

master 2

Beautiful space to relax.

boys room

They have 2 children, a boy and a girl and both of their rooms are adorable.

nursery

Baby girl is in this nursery space.

backyard gate

Outside is equally charming with the addition of a pea gravel walkway to the backyard.  I love how this looks and feels!

backyard

They’ve really worked on their outdoor spaces as well, making it comfortable for entertaining.

flowers

With blooming flowers and a nice backyard retreat, the Migonis home is just a beautiful space. I hope you’ll go and visit with Jen at her blog. She and her hubby have been flipping houses too and I’d say they have a knack for it.  They have done a wonderful job with their own home and I love to see sad and neglected houses get a facelift, don’t you?

What a beautiful transformation … I especially love the kitchen and the way the pressed-tin surround echoes the gray walls. Fantastic job!

Beautiful! The navy & mixed neutrals are stunning! I love the use of pea gravel as a softer alternative to concrete. Natural! Wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
