My friend, Gina, with The Shabby Creek Cottage, has been blogging for a long time too and she lives up in TN.  I’m happy to showcase her cute house and let me tell you, you might be surprising to know that Gina lives in a mobile home.  So, in case you know anyone in a manufactured home like this, you can see that this doesn’t stop Gina from making her home the best it can be. She has created a wonderful home for her family using lots of vintage touches and DIY skills.  She and her hubby have worked tirelessly on their home and Gina does a great job decorating it in shabby chic style.  She wants everyone to know that you can embrace your home wherever you may live.

Christmas at The Shabby Creek Cottage

The living room decorated for Christmas.  Gina had an Etsy store selling all sorts of hand crafted items and she sews like crazy.

Shabby-Creek-Cottage-Office

Gina’s office with lots of vintage touches, so cute and farm-housey.

Love this corner with the chippy white table and chair.

daughter's bedroom

Her daughter’s room is pretty in pastels.

girl's room storage

Storage in her daughter’s room.

Farmhouse Style Bathroom

This bathroom makeover is a recent one and I love how it turned out. So cute!

Their kitchen is light and airy.  And that is pine boards that they installed one by one and stained dark.

laundry room

Laundry room with the same flooring.

master bath

The master bath has a cute handmade sink.

Styling the faux fireplace, this is adorable.

Small-Hallway

Gina loves vintage and farmhouse style.

guest cottage

Here’s a space in her guesthouse that is so cute.

guest cottage bed

The bed and shelving above.

shelves

These shelves are styled with lots of fun objects, creating a vintage feel in neutrals.

winter white mantel

Another version of the mantel.

wood floors

And those floors again, Gina did a whole post on the flooring, using 1×8 pine.

porch

Gina created a pretty little deck outside her house too, with all sorts of charm.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how Gina has redone and decorated her mobile home.  Amazing isn’t it?  You’d never know this is a modular home just looking at these pics.  Gina would love to meet you, I’m sure, so hop on over and say hello!

All I can say is WOW! What a fantastic job she did…my sister just moved into another mobile home in Pennsylvania that she lives part-time (she is a missionary in Africa most of the time) but it’s a bear trying to come up with ideas when she’s home…she has so little time when she’s back in the states but each time she comes, she gets a little more done…I will make sure I give her this site for inspiration! Thanks for sharing!

I’ve been on Gina’s site quite a bit in the past year. I remember when I lived in a mobile home with paneling and I wanted to make it cute but did not where to start. She’s inspiring, and I’m going to go ask her about that black checked pillow with the thingy on it. Mighty cute!

Wow, way to go Gina! What an adorable, warm and welcoming space. I love Gina’s message of embracing your home wherever you may live. I think it’s easy to get caught up in wanting “bigger” or “newer” or “better” and we forget to enjoy and embrace all the possibility and potential of where we ARE. Love this post!

Her home is lovely, but just for clarification–a mobile home is a “manufactured home”. A modular home is one that is built in sections, in a factory, using conventional building methods and materials, then trucked to the homeowner’s site and assembled onto a foundation.

I am so glad you showcased this home, Rhonda. I think that mobile homes sometimes get a bad rap, and this just proves how cute they can be with imagination and love.

Speaking of love, that mantle is PRECIOUS. Love the color and the fact that it’s faux. Surprisingly, we don’t have a mantle in the St. Augustine house which shocks me because the house is so old. It does, however, have chimneys which I think originally went to coal burning stoves. That’s my guess. I keep thinking that maybe I should install one, but I have to determine where as I don’t have that much wall space free.

She really did a great job, and those floors are particuarly clever.

    I enjoyed this, Rhoda.

    xo,

    Sheila

Rhoda, I just got a phone call from Rhonda and have had her on the brain! You KNOW I KNOW who you are. LOL I’ m sorry… just me slipping up there. Argh!

You can call me Shirley or Syliva, and I won’t mind. 🙂

    XO,

    Sheila

I enjoyed seeing this lovely home and even more so, since I live in a Mobile Home now also. Really, making a home is possible no matter the size or type of home IF you want it to be a home. She has done a fantastic job!

You showcase the best homes, Rhoda! This is charming and appears very spacious. I love everything about it, but especially the floors, kitchen and the built-in bookcase by the “private” door. CTD
