Friday Favorites 19

Happy  Friday friends! I didn’t share beach pics, but I may still do that. It was a beautiful few days last week in Destin and the weather was picture perfect. A trip to the beach is always fun.

Today on Friday Favorites, I have another fun line-up for you, so I hope you enjoy. I’ll have an update on the pool again soon. It’s coming along and a lot has happened this past week.

Feature Friday

If you missed my Feature Friday on Mum Little Loves in Australia, Haley has a beautiful summer inspired home with lots of blues and look at that view of the water. You’ll love the tour!

Instagram Inspiration

Karen with Little Sanctuary on Adriana is fixing up her 90’s home and it’s so pretty to see. I love that hood over the stove. She loves bunnies and we have some of the same green Bordallo dishes. Follow her on Instagram.

Interior decorator, Dylan, lives in an 1800’s horse farm in VA and it’s charming!

Recipes

This Juicy Yogurt Lemon Chicken sounds delicious from The Modern Nonna. I’m a chicken thigh fan too!

Lori Allen from Bridal Girl (she has that wedding show on TV, Say Yes To the Dress Atlanta) shared this delicious looking Summer Fruit Dip that’s healthy and easy.

Around the House

I’ve got a fun upgrade to share with you today that we did at our house. Mark and I have wanted to replace our ugly brown floor vents since we move in the house almost 5 years ago. Some of the ones on the main floor show rather prominently. We finally got around to doing just that when a company reached out to me about trying out their vents, so we were gifted this product.

We were more than happy to do that and Floor Registers N Vents has a nice selection of upgraded floor vents in standard sizes and also custom sizes. We were able to get their standard sized vents for most of our vents. We got the antique brass Marquis floor vents in two sizes, 4 x 10″ and 4 x 14″.

I was so happy to throw away the standard brown ones that came with our house.

These just look so much better!

For the floor return in our main hallway, we opted for the custom Steel Crest Herringbone in Bronze. We measured the hole in the floor and that’s how they ordered it and I also took a picture of the hole showing the tape measure so it could be precise, per instructions. What a difference these make, we love them. If you’re in the market for these you might want to check them out.

Again, I can’t stop thinking about outdoors this summer, entertaining and spending time outside. Melamine plates and plastic wear sure come in handy, so I’ve curated a lot of cute things today for your outdoor entertaining needs. I have several plate sets that all blend together, so it’s nice to have these when it’s time to move outdoors. Of course, I am partial to blues so that’s what I found most appealing.
If I was really going to splurge, I’d get those white gold rimmed bamboo plates and the blue and white ones too from Ballard Designs. But the ones I have are just fine for our needs. Those sure are pretty though, so maybe one of you will get them. I also added my bamboo flatware that I love, those are perfect for outdoors. You can find all the links below in the shopping widget (affiliate links  used), these are all different price points, so some good deals too. Are you ready to get outside?

What We’re Watching

We haven’t watched much together this week on TV, but we did watch a short series called Candy starring Jessica Biel on Hulu that I was alerted to. My sister and I read the book years ago, probably in the 80’s, called Evidence of  Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs by journalists Jim Atkinson & John Bloom. The book was fascinating all those years ago and there began my love of true crime books as well as shows and movies in the same genre. I love a good crime mystery!

We’ve been outside working a lot and I just got my deck ready for summer. It needed so much cleaning and was extra dirty with the pool going in. But it’s ready to go now and I’ve been out there enjoying the breezes. It’s already getting hot here in GA!

I don’t see any source/shopping links or widget for the dishes….your site is so full of animated ads that it’s difficult to view.

HI, Donna, the shopping widget is just below the collage of products and there is an ad in between. It’s right before the What We’re Watching segment. I can see it on my laptop and phone. I know I have a lot of ads, but it’s the main way I can make a living doing this. They shouldn’t cover the content.
