It has sure been a lot of fun fixing up that old covered porch. I think I managed to make it completely livable and comfortable to be in, as well as pretty and functional too. We had to keep the function of this porch, that was a must.
Strategic storage pieces were definitely the answer. Storage can be pretty and I found some good versatile pieces. I spent every bit of my allowed budget and we are so happy with the outcome. I’ll be spending a lot of time on this porch now, you can believe that! 🙂
Let’s refresh our memories with the poor old Before pic. Tired, cluttered and not very inspiring.
Let me just say too that God surely has a wonderful sense of humor sometimes. There is no way that this space would have been reborn if not for the opportunity I got with American Express. I am so grateful to Him for opening doors and making a way for me. I had so enjoyed my outdoor space on my old deck in Birmingham and after all I’ve been through the last few months, this new porch at my parent’s place will definitely be a respite for me (and them) this summer. It’s those little things in life that I’m so thankful for right now. He cares about the smallest details, even a pretty porch that might not mean much to anyone else.
I’m convinced He did this just for ME!
It’s pretty and serene and will be used so often. I can’t wait for you to see it! And pssst, there’s a giveaway too that you will NOT want to miss out on.
I’m gonna make you click over to this page to see the whole porch in all its glory! I absolutely LOVE it and I think you will too.

Just wrote down the Colony Green paint color…I am seeing it for my laundry room. I think it would make a chore more cheery just seeing those pretty green walls. Thanks for sharing Rhoda.

Rhoda, I read all about your porch, but wanted to leave a comment here–I’m guessing you weren’t able to read all the comments left on your giveaway blog!
I am thrilled for you that you were able to do this room. Your parents are such a blessing to you, I know, and I can just imagine how happy it made you to be able to do this room for them! I believe God is taking good care of you, sweet sister! I’m sorry for all that you’ve had to suffer, but I know that the Lord will restore to you “the years the locusts have eaten.” You deserve the best!
