Garden District Drivebys: St. Charles Ave.

While in New Orleans, we had time for a quick trip through the Garden District. It’s a beautiful area and I’ve always heard about it over the years as being a very desirable place to live.

I can definitely see why! I took these shots driving in the car, so they are not the best, but you can see the beauty.

Enjoy these drive-by photos on beautiful St. Charles Avenue in the Garden District of New Orleans.  I can definitely see why one would want to live here, can’t you?I don’t know a lot to say, so I’ll just let the photos speak for themselves.  One fun thing about New Orleans is the varied architectural details on all the houses.  They are so very unique and not cookie cutter at all.

Are you ready to move to the Garden District yet?

I know, it’s just gorgeous and this is such a pretty drive.  I hope you enjoyed seeing these homes too.

I still have a couple more posts from New Orleans.  Are you tired of them yet?  Hope not! 🙂

I was just alerted to a tragic story over here, about a blogger named Kellie.  This couple recently lost their baby girl to what appears to be SIDS and there is an auction here (you have to log in to Facebook to see it) to help them with their very sad situation.  Please go over and visit and leave support for this precious couple.

I looked at the title of this post wide-eyed, Rhoda! My son lives in a hundred year old home in the historic area on St. Charles Ave….in Ohio! Lol

I will be on St. Charles Avenue this weekend. My in-laws live there, right on the parade route. The kids love to visit! Thanks for the pictures, Rhoda. My in-laws did not make the cut 😀

You are so right…the variety in architecture is amazing!
I guess it goes with the independent thinking and artistry of this area.
A fun post to scroll down through.
    Thanks!!!

Hey Rhoda, just a little FYI, that house in the 12th picture from the top was the model used to build Tara in Gone with the Wind.

These pics make me super home sick

    Love those houses!

Do you think I could build one of those in the desert southwest of New Mexico? Might stand out a bit!

Gorgeous homes, but my heart really goes with this family that lost their baby. I’ll pray for them and honestly, there’s nothing more difficult than a moment like this.
I hope they find peace. God help them.

    Have a blessed week, Rhoda.

I would move in a minute…if I could be assured that the humidity would be “world record low’s”! The small city that I grew up in TN has some grand homes like that…just fewer. I always wanted a house with big white pillars, but I settled for a Georgian (without columns) when we built.

    Rhoda,

Beautiful historic homes that remind me of Cape May. Am I tired of your New Orleans series? NO! I am depending on you to serve up a taste of this city to satisfy my appetite until I can get there myself!

    Your Friend,
    Deborah
