Heading to Tybee Island and Savannah!

Is anyone else dreaming of Spring as much as I am?

I mentioned last week that I would soon be heading to Tybee Island with some other blog friends for a girl’s weekend away and today is the day! We’ll be staying on Tybee Island, courtesy of Mermaid Cottages and we are all in for a treat. This event was started by Mary Kay Andrews and she has been working alongside Diane, who manages Mermaid Cottages, and me to plan this fun bloggers weekend.  If you want to see more of these cottages, click on the Mermaid link and you can see all the cottages for rent on Tybee Island.  They are all so cute!

We have a full weekend scheduled, including a day in Savannah with lunch at The Lady and Sons.  I’ve never eaten at The Lady and Sons, Paula Deen’s restaurant, and I cannot wait to experience it all.   I know I’ll take way too many pics, but of course will be sharing all the fun with you all too.  It’s been way too long since I’ve been to Savannah and I’m so looking forward to staying on Tybee for 4 nights in one of these adorable cottages.  Tybee is a great place to get away from it all and we cannot wait to explore and experience Tybee’s charm.

Ebbtide

Mary Kay Andrews has 2 cottages on Tybee, Ebbtide and the Breeze Inn.  Our group will have a total of 6 cottages that we will be staying in:  Breeze Inn, Ebbtide, Castaway Cottage, Blue Star Cottage, Screened Inn, and White Caps.

Ebbtide2

Cute deck at Ebbtide.  I hear these cottages are just steps from the Tybee beach.

Adorable kitchen in red and white.

I don’t mean to  make you jealous, but I sure could use this view right about now.  I love the beach!

The Breeze Inn

The Breeze Inn, another of Mary Kay’s cottages.

Breeze Inn living room

So cute inside, just like her own house in Atlanta.  She has a way of junking and putting things together so well.

Whitecaps

This is White Caps and I especially love this one!  In fact, since I was assigning cottages, I picked this one to stay in.  So cute!

whitecaps porch

Just look at that porch, it’s amazing!

And the foyer

whitecaps bedroom

One of the bedrooms.  I wonder which one I’ll stay in.  There will be 3 other ladies joining me at White Caps.  You know it’s going to be one big slumber party!

blue star

Blue Star Cottage will hold 2 of our bloggers.

They are in for a treat too, with all this cuteness around.

blue star twins

Twin beds in one room.

So, how fun will that be?  We are so excited for our fun blogger’s weekend on Tybee Island and of course, all of us will be sharing when we get back.  You can bet it will be a fabulous girlfriend time and we will have a blast.  Think there will be much talking going on?  Of that, I’m sure.

Sleep, now that’s another story!

See you back here soon!

We were to stay at one of the wonderful cottages a couple of years ago and had to cancel at the last minute. I think that we talked with Diane. Those ladies are very nice. I still want to get down there at some point.

Have a wonderful time. I hope that it is warm down there!

Have a wonderful time! Make sure to get over to A-Js Dockside Restaurant to enjoy a beautiful sunset! I have no affiliation with them, just sweet memories from a girls’ weekend a few years ago.

Sounds like a really fun and relaxing time! My last visit to Tybee was March 2013 and hubby and I stayed at the Beach View Bed and Breakfast. I vowed that on our next visit, we would stay at one of the Mermaid Cottages. Mary Kay Andrews Home has been featured in a couple of magazines. Your cottage/house looks perfect for you. Traditional with a little beach vibe thrown in. I adore Savannah. Can’t wait to see your pictures when you return. I agree with Colleen. Be sure to visit A-J Dockside for a beautiful sunset view.

The cottages look great. Have a fantastic time. Wish I was going. Nothing but ice in Kentucky.

My hubs is from Savannah and his sister has a beach house near old Fort Screven.(Behind the lighthouse). We have spent many hours at Tybee. If you get a chance, eat dinner at the Sunday Cafe on Tybee. Delish!! Also try Leopold’s Ice Cream shop in downtown Savannah..fun and cute place for a little ice cream Tutti Frutti is a big favorite but all are good. We are heading down in June for my husband’s 45th high school reunion. Can’t wait!

I’m so glad for y’all!! I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful time–and I hope that you’ll do it again some time and I can join you! Jack turned 50 yesterday, and we had a nice dinner with just our family. Now for a fun weekend of celebrating. Considering that he’s had two major open-heart surgeries in the last five years, it’s a real triumph for him to be alive and well at age 50!

Love you and I pray that you’ll be blessed beyond measure by this warm weekend getaway.

Rhoda, I’m right there with you on needing a beach. I’m in Dallas – we have maybe a 1/2″ of snow and it’s causing all kinds of chaos! Plus, it’s 17 degrees, with a wind chill around zero. Nowhere near as bad as what so many other areas of the country are experiencing, but I think it’s safe to say we’d ALL appreciate some warm sun-filled days. Have a great trip – Tybee Island is so fun and quaint!

My ultimate dream is to stay at a Mermaid Cottage! We had planned to visit Savannah while doing a tour of the east coast last year, but hubby had to have back surgery in March, and no long drives for at least six months after. So, trip was cancelled. I had shown the cottages to hubby during planning stages of the trip, but he felt we couldn’t afford the ones I liked. So, I may never get the opportunity to stay there, unless I somehow come upon some money, or win a lottery! But oh, I so love them all! This gal in frigid Mo. is beyond jealous right now!

I stayed on Jeckyll Islan for the Minnia and have to add this to my wish list. I so enjoyed that area and adore Savannah. The decoration in those cottages is some of the nicest I’ve seen. I need the vintage metal and marble radiator cover/table in the Foyer of white Cap. It’s exactly what I’ve been wanting for my own front hall. Have a blast…how could you not. (And take lots of pics so the rest of us can enjoy it vicariously!)
