If that title didn’t get your attention, your decorating mojo has got up and left!
Today, I’m back with some more fun and excitement from my fun event up in NC with Shaw Floors and HGTV Home. Just released this month, they have collaborated on a brand new line of flooring and area rugs and I can say with enthusiasm, this line rocks! It is a natural partnership. Given that HGTV is all about making homes better, they have already partnered with Sherwin Williams on a line of paint, and with Bed, Bath and Beyond on bedding.  This collaboration with Shaw Floors is a perfect fit.
From a humble start in 1946 as a small business, fast forward to January 2001, when Shaw was purchased by Berkshire Hathaway Inc., the holding company of renowned investor Warren E. Buffett. Shaw headquarters is right up the road from me in Dalton, GA and that fair city is known as the carpet capital of the country. I can vouch for that too! I was so impressed with all the folks we met from Shaw and it was obvious they are proud of their company and all it represents.
You can read my posts from the Biltmore, along with Day 2 and Day 3 of the design competition in High Point, NC. A dream come true for me and I’m still pinching myself that I got to participate in this prestigious and exciting event.
We checked out the hardwood floors, carpet, laminate, and area rugs up close and personal and I was very pleased with what we saw.
Yep! I’m excited to say that today we are giving away ONE fantastically beautiful Shaw Floors HGTV Home area rug to one lucky person!

Before we get to that part, let’s take a look at the other 4 rooms in the design competition. This stylish take on an urban apartment was done by Ethan with One Project Closer and Carmen with The Decorating Diva.
They put together a beautiful and stylish room using the Oleader Breeze rug from the new line of area rugs from Shaw Floors/HGTV Home.
Here’s a look at that rug up close and personal.
Nest, we have a modern studio single girl’s apartment done by Julia with Casa Sugar and Katy with Charles & Hudson. Very stylish, modern and fun with bright green walls, they added punches of color in orange.
Their space had a very exciting feel and vibe. These girls didn’t add an area rug to their space.
Up next is Jill with Material Girls and Pam with Retro Renovation‘s mid-century modern room, with pops of coral in a soothing neutral palette.
I was so impressed with every single space that was completed in this competition. It’s definitely going to be a tight finish.
Here is Mod Links in beige, that Pam and Jill chose for their room.
Now, I have to say my 2nd favorite space in the competition was from Cassity with Remodelaholic and Roeshel with The DIY Showoff. Their coastal cottage living room turned out fantastic and I love the colors and textures in this space.
Their area rug is called Ikat Panel and it has rich saturated color with so many hues to pull from. It made a perfect backdrop to their room on top of the beautiful hardwood floors they were lucky to get.  The website pic doesn’t do it justice, it’s so vibrant in person.
In fact, I loved this rug so much that I chose it myself! We were blessed by Shaw/HGTV Home and the last day, it was announced that WE would all get our own rug to choose from out of the new line of area rugs. We were beaming with excitement over that announcement.
I’m going to give this rug to my mom and we are using it as the inspiration piece for a bedroom/bathroom renovation we are going to do this Fall in my parent’s bedroom. I know they are going to enjoy this comfy rug underfoot every morning and the colors are so rich and vibrant, it will be fun to decorate with. So, stay tuned for another decorating project around this casa in a few months! 🙂
Cassity and Roeshel did an amazing job on their room.  There were lots of little details all over and you can get some great ideas from all of these spaces.
So, now you’ll also remember the room that Lindsay with Living with Lindsay and I did! We were super excited about how our room turned out too.
We loved the colors in this Teal Delilah rug so much and were very happy with our choice too. It made for a great inspiration rug to build our room around. Happy, vibrant, full of life and color, this rug is gorgeous.
Again, this is the Delilah rug.
Now, it’s time for the fun part!
ONE of my readers will get your very own HGTV Home/Shaw Floors rug too. You can choose ONE rug from the new line of area rugs and it can be ANY size too!

Have an older oriental style in my family room and one of these would surely bring us into 2011!!!!!
I absolutely love all the rugs, but the one that grabbed my attention was the “Oleander Breeze”. I guess living at the coast, it just seemed to fit….
These are some cool rugs. Where were they two years ago when I finally had to settle on something.
If I won I’d like the Oleander Breeze rug. The colors would really tie together our great room.
I love the Oleander Breeze rug.
I have a very hard time choosing. I think I like the Ikat Panel the most!
Why am I so nervous about leaving my first comment ever for a give away?? Maybe it’s all the competition. It’s not like anyone can SEE me, right? Ha (nervous laugh). Anyway, I just LOVE the Ikat Panel. Absolutely GORGEOUS! Kind of reminds me of when I met my hubby, love at first sight.
I think I’m a day late for entering but the Ikat Panel is such a beauty! Shaw rugs are of awesome quality, too! Can’t wait until Sept to start voting for your room, Rhoda!! Another of your beautiful creations!!
