I’m skipping Feature Friday today, just didn’t have time to finish more before Haven. But, I’m really excited to be the Cottage of the month for August over at The Old Painted Cottage. I had the pleasure of getting featured a few years ago when I was in my old house, but now that I’m in my new one, this is even better.  Thank you, Jennifer!

I took a few new shots for the tour and I’m so excited to be over there and the pics are nice and big. Jen always features some beautiful cottage homes and I’m honored to be highlighted again.  It’s been a long year of renovations and I’m so glad to be able to show it off.  Be sure to go over and check out all the Cottages of the Month if you haven’t before, there are some stunning homes over there and Jen has been doing this for years.  It’s fun to see my house with just the pics to show the journey!

I like your idea of the molding on top of door frames. I may just try that.

Hi Rhoda, Wow! Being a regular reader of your Blog, I found it so interesting to see the tour of your new house – all complete – and am newly amazed at what a great eye for detail and how creative you are. Truly inspiring. And, I must add that I am thrilled to see that your decorating style includes antiques in their original wood beauty in addition to the “finds” that you have placed carefully, or transformed in some clever way. It’s refreshing to see that the two can co-exist harmoniously: I have found the completely neutral palette to be a little insipid after a while…. Thanks for showing us “how its done”! Enjoy Haven.

Your home is beautiful. What a talented girl you are! I love what you’ve done but most of all I love that it doesn’t look decorated. It looks like it is a house that has evolved over time and contains loved and cherished things you have collected over the years. I love it!!
Hope Haven is going well. I’m sure it is. Next year I am going to try to get there.

A well deserved recognition!!! Congratulations on the feature! Hope Haven was wonderful. I hate I missed it thanks to the start up of school….Are you planning on keeping it in August next year, or will you move it back to June again?

I noticed she had a textured ceiling in these photos. I have the same thing and I have been trying to decide if you can use molding at the ceiling line if it won’t lay flat because of the texture. Any thoughts?

Rhoda!! I forgot to comment on this, but congrats! Your house is just beautiful and so comfortable. I wish I was your roomie! (if the hubs would give me away) I can’t believe how far your house has come. It truly is your Haven! XOXO
