#296- Linda with Coastal Charm

Congrats, ladies!  All of you have been emailed, so get back to me ASAP!

I’ve gotten to know over the last 3 years or so.  You may all know her as Miss Mustard Seed, but her real name is Marian and she has written a very inspiring and beautiful book, full of her own photography, many taken in her beautiful cottage style home.  It’s so exciting to see my blog friends be recognized and all of the opportunities that are coming to bloggers is just so much fun to watch.

If you haven’t been to her blog, you must take a peek.  Marian is just as real and down to earth as they come and she was on our Haven team this year, teaching classes on painting furniture, which is one of her many talents.  Marian started her own business, painting and selling furniture, which led to her starting a blog and well, her star has risen and she is doing so many wonderful things now.  I’m so, so happy for her and it is well deserved.

Inspired You book

Her book is just out about a month now and published by Thomas Nelson, a Christian publisher. Inspired You:  Letting God Breathe New Life into Your Heart and Home is a lovely book, filled with not only beautiful photos, but Marian’s well-spoken words as well.  Marian really knows how to string together sentences and draw you into her world.

Here’s a little video clip from Marian about Inspired You.

From the treasure hunt of finding run-down furniture and bringing it back to life again, to showing how to paint furniture, sew slipcovers and more, Marian inspires all women to work with what they have and decorate on a budget, using the God-given gifts that we all have received.

Taking a peek through the book, you’ll see lots of beautiful rooms in Marian’s home.  She’s a wonderful decorator and knows how to put thing together and she teaches us all how to do it as well.

Another awesome opportunity that Marian has been blessed with is getting her own line of milk paint.  She is one talented lady in furniture painting and I know so many have been inspired by her to go out and find old furniture to fix up and love again.  Click here for the entire list of retailers who are carrying Marian’s new milk paint.

I was so excited for her and have seen her milk paint displays several times now.  This was at the Bella Rustica market in TN.  Everyone seems to know Miss Mustard Seed!

And today, I get the exciting pleasure of offering up for giveaway THREE of her beautiful new books, Inspired You!

  1. All you have to do is leave a comment telling me what you’d love to learn the most from Marian’s book.
  2. Leave a 2nd comment using another Social Media outlet, like Facebook or Twitter and leave a link to that also, for 2 chances to enter!

That’s it!  Leave your comments and I’ll choose winners in one week!

You can also check out Thomas Nelson for ordering books directly online and to find a retailer near you.

I would love to read the entire book to see what more inspiration she can impart. She has inspired me to move forward with my long time ambition to refurbish furniture and sell in my own antiques business. I love to paint and upholster and upcycle so I am sure she has all sorts of surprising tips!

I would love to learn how to look at old furniture and things and be able to imagine how they would look after being painted and redone! And then to be inpired on how to decorate with them to make things look so great! I have a bunch of old stuff but it never looks like the rooms I see in pictures 🙁
