I’ve gotten to know over the last 3 years or so. You may all know her as Miss Mustard Seed, but her real name is Marian and she has written a very inspiring and beautiful book, full of her own photography, many taken in her beautiful cottage style home. It’s so exciting to see my blog friends be recognized and all of the opportunities that are coming to bloggers is just so much fun to watch.
If you haven’t been to her blog, you must take a peek. Marian is just as real and down to earth as they come and she was on our Haven team this year, teaching classes on painting furniture, which is one of her many talents. Marian started her own business, painting and selling furniture, which led to her starting a blog and well, her star has risen and she is doing so many wonderful things now. I’m so, so happy for her and it is well deserved.
Her book is just out about a month now and published by Thomas Nelson, a Christian publisher. Inspired You: Letting God Breathe New Life into Your Heart and Home is a lovely book, filled with not only beautiful photos, but Marian’s well-spoken words as well. Marian really knows how to string together sentences and draw you into her world.

From the treasure hunt of finding run-down furniture and bringing it back to life again, to showing how to paint furniture, sew slipcovers and more, Marian inspires all women to work with what they have and decorate on a budget, using the God-given gifts that we all have received.
Taking a peek through the book, you’ll see lots of beautiful rooms in Marian’s home. She’s a wonderful decorator and knows how to put thing together and she teaches us all how to do it as well.

I was so excited for her and have seen her milk paint displays several times now. This was at the Bella Rustica market in TN. Everyone seems to know Miss Mustard Seed!

I have the God given gifts and now am on the beginning journey of staring my own business and want inspiration in putting the pieces in place…reading this book I am sure would be a great push in the right direction…I need to revive my blog and learn all it can do for me and I really want to check out Miss Mustards (Marion’s) Milk Paint line…the furniture created is truly lovely! This book is on my wish list! I have two old dressers that my parents bought me in middle school and are stained golden oak. I really really really need to paint them!

I would love to learn more about re-finishing furniture. I also love how Marion styles her photos, but i”m not sure the book is about that.
I think I have entered every contest for Miss Mustard Seed’s book. I know, I know, I should just buy one but with money tight I need to spend the cash on the kids. Plus this gives me an excuse to spend more time with my computer reading my favorite bloggers.
I would love to read her story and be motivated and inspired by what sounds like an amazing journey she has traveled. I love design books, but this sounds like so much more.
