The Winner is #331, Heidi! Congrats, Heidi, you’ve got mail!
Lamps are one of the easiest things to change out in a room to make a big difference in the feel. I went through the really traditional lamp season, of iron base and bell shaped shades, but the last 3 or 4 years, I’ve transitioned over to drum shades and a more electic vibe with my table lamps and I love the changes. I’m happy that lamp manufacturers have given us so many pretty lamps to choose from the last few years. Before that, I remember having a hard time finding pretty lamps that were affordable.
I’ll show you a few of mine that I’ve had for a few years.
I found this one at a yardsale for $5 and got rid of the monstrously big shade that came with it and found the replacement shade at a thriftstore. I recovered it in this pretty black and cream damask and have enjoyed it for a long time. I might be ready for an update on the fabric pretty soon, since I have some burlap that would work perfectly. I love the glass base with gold accents and it’s a very tall stately lamp.
Another find in my living room is this mercury glass lamp that I got from Homegoods. It’s petite and fits nicely on this glass and iron side table from Ballards.
More lamps around my house. I love mixing them up and using different colors and shades all around. I try to keep my shades fairly neutral for the most part and notice I love the drum shades. Something about this shape really appeals to me and it modernizes a room so much.
Another little vignette in my den area has another metal based lamp and drum shade. I’m still working on the den, but I’ll show you some progress down here next week. It will be awhile before I get this room totally finished and I’m still using part of it for storage of accessories.
Another great find were these lamps from Kirklands that I found just after moving in my house. I absolutely love the wooden bases, the gray ceramic vase shape and the burlap drum shades. This pair was the perfect complement on my sideboard in the dining room, pulling in the gray paint in here and the colors from the curtains. They were meant to be!
Speaking of Kirklands, if you haven’t shopped there for lamps lately, they have really upped their game in lamp selections and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the ones they have. You can shop online or at their store and they have a ton of lamps on sale all the time.
Kirklands sent me a new lamp to try out in my house and I absolutely love it. This big glass base is slightly vintage looking and the glass is sort of seeded and old looking on a wooden neutral base. I really love the large drum shade covered in burlap.
It’s a great fit on my coffee table in the den, very large and distinct and the style fits right in with my Traditional furnishings in here. At 32” tall, it’s a large one!
Here’s some great news too. Kirklands wants to give ONE of my readers one of these lamps too. Yippee!! I love when I can share the fun with all of you and I’m so excited to be able to give one of you this lamp too. It will be sent directly to your home all packed up nice and neat in 2 boxes.
All you have to do is visit the Kirklands website, look at their lamps and leave a comment, telling me which one is your fave!
And tell me where you’ll put this new lamp if you’re the fortunate winner?! That’s it, I’ll choose a winner in a few days and you’ll get your very own beautiful glass lamp with burlap shade too. How fun is that?
Note: I was given a free lamp from Kirklands, but wasn’t paid for this post.

Getting older and needing more light in our living room so that is where I would put a new lamp!
Hi Rhoda,
I am so enjoying you having a house again! Thanks for the inspiration and the giveaway. I have a crush on the blue glass lamps.
Thanks!
The glass bronze table lamp is my favorite of all those shown. It would be perfect on my desk ! Thank you for your lovely blog and all the info you provide for us.
First, let me tell you I loved this post…helpfull and informative. I loved the Distressed Rooster Table Lamp with the red shade. I’m lovin’ the farmhouse look. I’d use it in the dining room or if I could figure out a way it would be in the kitchen. CUTE Thank you for sharing the give away from Kirkland.
Have a God Filled Day
Shirley
I love the lamp that you have. I like the burlap lampshade and I was just looking at lamps in kirklands this past weekend! I would put on my side table in my family room!
The Peacock Blue Table Lamp would be perfect in my guest bedroom. Thanks.

Thanks for doing this post. You just opened up my eyes to that they have online shopping. I don’t live near one anymore so that will be very handy and I can add another site to look at when I need something.
Ok I love the Blue Gold Leaf Table Lamp! It has a vintage look and that’s what I love in lamps. It’s part of my Southern Heritage. I love the lamps that look like that sat on tables belonging to my Mother, Grandmother or my Husbands Grandmother.
Thanks so much!
Nancy
Wow so many to choose from! I think I like the Open Base Glass Table Lamp. Thanks.
The Sandy Blue Glass Table Lamp is so pretty and I’d put it in my bedroom.
I love this one 🙂 Bronze Cube Table Lamp – love the square bottom of it 🙂
I like the turquoise glass table lamp. Turquoise is my new favorite color! I would use it in my bedroom, or living room.
Thanks!
what a great source for lamps! Mine desperately need updating. Love the one that you have but also some of the pretty slender lamps for my buffet
I love the Sea Shell Glass Table Lamp, I would put it in my LR.
I LOVE the crackled silver glass table lamp or the one they sent you! So pretty! 🙂
Beautiful lamps and wonderful giveaway!
I think my favorite lamp is the Antique Cream Table Lamp!
If I had the one you have, I fear it would be broken as our house is under renovation (the whole house!) and there would be no safe place to put it!
I love the cracked silver glass table lamp. I’d use it on my nightstand as the bedroom can be quite dark and needs something shiny and pretty. I recently fallen in love with mercury glass type objects so this is perfect. Love Kirklands and love your Blog too. Inspiring!
Wow… what a great giveaway… I like your lamp. Very pretty. I also liked the Bronze Jaguar Table Lamp. I have very traditional furnishing. I would put the new lamp in my den area. Would look great!!
One of my favorite lamps, in our home, is the 1950’s ceramic rose lamp that belonged to J’s mother. I changed out the shade for a drum shade and have it in one of the guest rooms.
I visited Kirkland’s site. The selection is fabulous! My choice would be the open base glass table lamp. A perfect addition for our hearth room.
So many great choices in lamps, it is hard to choose. I love your clear glass lamp, especially with the damask shade. I would probably choose the silver crackled lamp, for it’s personality and it would be sweet in a master bedroom.
Kirklands: great choices, great prices!
PS: Love your blog!
