The Winner is #331, Heidi! Congrats, Heidi, you’ve got mail!
Lamps are one of the easiest things to change out in a room to make a big difference in the feel. I went through the really traditional lamp season, of iron base and bell shaped shades, but the last 3 or 4 years, I’ve transitioned over to drum shades and a more electic vibe with my table lamps and I love the changes. I’m happy that lamp manufacturers have given us so many pretty lamps to choose from the last few years. Before that, I remember having a hard time finding pretty lamps that were affordable.
I’ll show you a few of mine that I’ve had for a few years.
I found this one at a yardsale for $5 and got rid of the monstrously big shade that came with it and found the replacement shade at a thriftstore. I recovered it in this pretty black and cream damask and have enjoyed it for a long time. I might be ready for an update on the fabric pretty soon, since I have some burlap that would work perfectly. I love the glass base with gold accents and it’s a very tall stately lamp.
Another find in my living room is this mercury glass lamp that I got from Homegoods. It’s petite and fits nicely on this glass and iron side table from Ballards.
More lamps around my house. I love mixing them up and using different colors and shades all around. I try to keep my shades fairly neutral for the most part and notice I love the drum shades. Something about this shape really appeals to me and it modernizes a room so much.
Another little vignette in my den area has another metal based lamp and drum shade. I’m still working on the den, but I’ll show you some progress down here next week. It will be awhile before I get this room totally finished and I’m still using part of it for storage of accessories.
Another great find were these lamps from Kirklands that I found just after moving in my house. I absolutely love the wooden bases, the gray ceramic vase shape and the burlap drum shades. This pair was the perfect complement on my sideboard in the dining room, pulling in the gray paint in here and the colors from the curtains. They were meant to be!
Speaking of Kirklands, if you haven’t shopped there for lamps lately, they have really upped their game in lamp selections and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the ones they have. You can shop online or at their store and they have a ton of lamps on sale all the time.
Kirklands sent me a new lamp to try out in my house and I absolutely love it. This big glass base is slightly vintage looking and the glass is sort of seeded and old looking on a wooden neutral base. I really love the large drum shade covered in burlap.
It’s a great fit on my coffee table in the den, very large and distinct and the style fits right in with my Traditional furnishings in here. At 32” tall, it’s a large one!
Here’s some great news too. Kirklands wants to give ONE of my readers one of these lamps too. Yippee!! I love when I can share the fun with all of you and I’m so excited to be able to give one of you this lamp too. It will be sent directly to your home all packed up nice and neat in 2 boxes.
All you have to do is visit the Kirklands website, look at their lamps and leave a comment, telling me which one is your fave!
And tell me where you’ll put this new lamp if you’re the fortunate winner?! That’s it, I’ll choose a winner in a few days and you’ll get your very own beautiful glass lamp with burlap shade too. How fun is that?
Note: I was given a free lamp from Kirklands, but wasn’t paid for this post.

Love the Crystal Bronze Table Lamp
Would be perfect for my family room!
I would chose the Bronze Clear Glass Table Lamp and put it in my family room.
Rhoda…this is the first time writing to you. You have changed my life since finding your blog and the many others you have referred your readers to. I look forward to turning on my computer every day to see what you are doing. Thanks for sharing. I also love the Sand Dune table lamp from Kirkland. I can see 2 of those in one of my guest bedrooms.
They are all lovely but I really liked the cream bird table lamp the best. I would probably use it in my daughters room because it’s just so cute.
I’ve been wanting to update our master bedroom. I was thinking of a blue and grey theme. The Empire Clear Glass Table lamp would be perfect. Of course, I will have to visit Kirkland’s again to get a couple more lamps for this room!
Love the metal blue scroll lamp =)
I love the turqoise blue hobnail lamp. I’m sortof a lamp hoarder, I love the way lifht can recreate an entire space. I would put this in my kithcen sitting area. Great lamps!

Rhoda, I love your blog. I’ve enjoyed watching you redo and decorate your new home.
My favorite lamp is the Sea Glass Shell Lamp.
Thanks,
Marilynn
I love the Sand Dunes table lamp. It would go great in our Master Bedroom 🙂
Love, love, love the natural wood lantern lamp. I can think of so many places that it would be a great accent without overpowering!
Hi, Rhoda! What a wonderful giveaway opportunity! I absolutely love the Etched Glass Table Lamp (http://www.kirklands.com/product/Lighting/Lamps/Table-Lamps/Etched-Glass-Table-Lamp/pc/2286/c/2678/sc/2309/164787.uts) from Kirklands! My husband and I just built our home and move in this past October, so there are endless possibilities as to where this lamp could go because we are starting from scratch in the decorating department! For starters, though, it would love just lovely either on the end table next to our couch, OR on our bedroom dresser. I love that it is equal parts vintage-looking and elegant all at the same time!
Thanks so much for the opportunity to enter this giveaway!
I like the Crackled Silver Glass Table Lamp and I would like to update the lamps in my living room and bedrooms. 🙂
If I was entering for myself I’d love the turquoise glass with the drum shade . I’d love to win one for my fiancé though . The gray driftwood would be perfect ! I, helping redo his home now that he got custody of his son! Love the chance to win and your blog !
Donna
sandy blue glass lamp 🙂
I love the crackled silver glass table lamp
I love the antique cream table lamp. It would look perfect on the end table in our living room.
I am needing lamps desperately. I haven’t bought any since we were first married. With young boys, I just worried about breakage so I waited. Now that the boys are older, it’s time. I am open to any suggestions as the colors I love are the same as yours Rhoda. Primarily green. I love mercury glass, or the open glass one at Kirklands or the one in your family room with the burlap shade. So many beautiful choices. I love Kirklands!
Boy You are right about Kirkland’s upping their lamps! Lots of nice choices at good prices. I liked the Clementine dimpled glass and the etched silver but if I were to win the glass lamp I would place it on the table in my entry. One I think I will go to the Kirkland’s near me. To be nonesuch had written off the store a while ago but your post made me re- think my decision.
I like the SeaShell Glass Lamp at Kirklands!!! It would fit right in my livingroom or my bedroom. The one Kirklands sent you is good for a coastal themed home so that one would also work in my house.
I love love lamps and who knew Kirkland’s carried so many choices! Of course I can’t just pick one so here are my top two.
Finally there’s something to get me excited about the husband’s man cave that he calls ‘The Establishment”. I would choose the Cairo Crackle Table Lamp, it’s a perfect marriage of hubby’s style (and I say that loosely) and mine. He essentially wants a traditional sophisticated room from the 70’s like the old Steak & Ales (do they even exist anymore?) I diverse. My style is more modern, sleek and clean lines with whimsical touches of rustic and industrialism. I would put the lamp right on the bar and it would be a such a show stopper. Can you tell I’m drooling…?
My next choice would be the Black Wire Body Table Lamp. What woman could resist that? It would go right into Kathyland. The one room that I AM claiming in basement for myself. Kathyland has a view of the lake and is perfect for dreaming up crafts, projects and re-potting plants. Oh my!
Off to make a purchase from Kirkland’s. Thanks for letting me take you to Kathyland. Love your blog and your engaging content.
