The Winner is #331, Heidi! Congrats, Heidi, you’ve got mail!
Lamps are one of the easiest things to change out in a room to make a big difference in the feel. I went through the really traditional lamp season, of iron base and bell shaped shades, but the last 3 or 4 years, I’ve transitioned over to drum shades and a more electic vibe with my table lamps and I love the changes. I’m happy that lamp manufacturers have given us so many pretty lamps to choose from the last few years. Before that, I remember having a hard time finding pretty lamps that were affordable.
I’ll show you a few of mine that I’ve had for a few years.
I found this one at a yardsale for $5 and got rid of the monstrously big shade that came with it and found the replacement shade at a thriftstore. I recovered it in this pretty black and cream damask and have enjoyed it for a long time. I might be ready for an update on the fabric pretty soon, since I have some burlap that would work perfectly. I love the glass base with gold accents and it’s a very tall stately lamp.
Another find in my living room is this mercury glass lamp that I got from Homegoods. It’s petite and fits nicely on this glass and iron side table from Ballards.
More lamps around my house. I love mixing them up and using different colors and shades all around. I try to keep my shades fairly neutral for the most part and notice I love the drum shades. Something about this shape really appeals to me and it modernizes a room so much.
Another little vignette in my den area has another metal based lamp and drum shade. I’m still working on the den, but I’ll show you some progress down here next week. It will be awhile before I get this room totally finished and I’m still using part of it for storage of accessories.
Another great find were these lamps from Kirklands that I found just after moving in my house. I absolutely love the wooden bases, the gray ceramic vase shape and the burlap drum shades. This pair was the perfect complement on my sideboard in the dining room, pulling in the gray paint in here and the colors from the curtains. They were meant to be!
Speaking of Kirklands, if you haven’t shopped there for lamps lately, they have really upped their game in lamp selections and I’ve been pleasantly surprised at the ones they have. You can shop online or at their store and they have a ton of lamps on sale all the time.
Kirklands sent me a new lamp to try out in my house and I absolutely love it. This big glass base is slightly vintage looking and the glass is sort of seeded and old looking on a wooden neutral base. I really love the large drum shade covered in burlap.
It’s a great fit on my coffee table in the den, very large and distinct and the style fits right in with my Traditional furnishings in here. At 32” tall, it’s a large one!
Here’s some great news too. Kirklands wants to give ONE of my readers one of these lamps too. Yippee!! I love when I can share the fun with all of you and I’m so excited to be able to give one of you this lamp too. It will be sent directly to your home all packed up nice and neat in 2 boxes.
All you have to do is visit the Kirklands website, look at their lamps and leave a comment, telling me which one is your fave!
And tell me where you’ll put this new lamp if you’re the fortunate winner?! That’s it, I’ll choose a winner in a few days and you’ll get your very own beautiful glass lamp with burlap shade too. How fun is that?
Note: I was given a free lamp from Kirklands, but wasn’t paid for this post.

Thanks for the great giveaway! I am in love with the Silver Crackle Base Lamp from Kirkland’s! It would be absolutely gorgeous in our master bedroom! I didn’t know they had so many great lamps on their website!
I love the Lockhart Tan Table Lamp!!! Kirklands does have a great selection, thank you for letting us know.
Hi, Rhoda, sorry if you receive this twice, but I’m not sure my first comment posted!
What a fabulous giveaway opportunity–thank you!! I LOVE the lamp that Kirkland’s gifted you–it looks fabulous in your home!
I also really love the Etched Glass Table Lamp available on their site (http://www.kirklands.com/product/Lighting/Lamps/Table-Lamps/Etched-Glass-Table-Lamp/pc/2286/c/2678/sc/2309/164787.uts)
My husband and I just finished building our new home in October, and we have our decorating cut out for us, so both of these lamps have many possible resting places in our home. I think that as an accent to our end table next to the couch OR on our master bedroom dresser are both GREAT possible “homes” for a Kirklands lamp!
Thanks again for providing this chance to win a great lamp!
Hi Rhoda,
I love your blog and your 1979 house (year my son was born). I love the Rustic Roses & Bird Table Lamp. I have Waverly fabric with cabbage roses on them that I made for my living room. The roses on the lamp shade would go beautifully.
i LOVE kirkland’s and am always in one of my stores!! i have been shopping with them for years and i remember going into the store with my mom, too! i have always been a big fan of their lamps because they have such an amazing selection.
my favorite – the EMPIRE CLEAR GLASS TABLE LAMP with the bell shade in ivory.
Rhoda love the Empire Clear Glass Lamp and the one on your post! You inspire me on a daily basis and I look forward to your new posts!
whoops, hit publish without telling you where I would use it. Since I am presently using lamps in my livingroom that dont match the decor I would definitely use it in my living room (and by another!).
The Sandy Blue Glass Table Lamp – reminds me of the sand you see through the water at Destin Jetties.. Just about my favorite spot in the world!
I would put it on end table in front of my corner window, have a large old beveled glass piece in front of the window and the sunlight coming through that piece onto the lamp would be beautiful.
Oh! The Buttermilk Urn table lamp would be perfect on the small chest of drawers I use as me bedside table!
I think the driftwood knot lamp is very interesting, hard to pick a fav. If I one I would put the lamp in my great room, it’s big and needs a bigger lamp.
I love the Gray Driftwood table lamp! Have just the place for it. I had no idea they had such beautiful lamps at Kirklands. Now I need to run by there and see what else they have. Thanks, Rhoda.
I love the Neutral Clear Glass Table Lamp! I fell in love with it in your den! After looking at the others, it is still my favorite. I’d also put it in my den, which is full of seashells, pottery fragments, feathers, etc…found treasures. I think it would be lovely!
Wow, Kirkland’s some wonderful lamps at great prices! I like the shape and shade on the Bronze Clear Glass table lamp. Love your blog!
Love the Neutral Clear Glass Table Lamp! Love burlap shades! I would put it in our living room to give it an update. What a great giveaway!
I absolutely love the blue hobnail lamp. It would look great in my daughter’s Tiffany room. Thanks for the chance to win. Love your blog.
Dori
I love the Antique Bronze Uplight. I have a perfect side table that would look so cute on! Thanks! I also didn’t realize how inexpensive they were … I just might do some shopping ; )
Love your blog, follow you daily! 🙂 I like the Antique Gold Fleur-de-Lis Table Lamp, the detail and size is so pretty. I am in the process of trying to make a burlap wreath like the one in your dining area, the burlap lamp is an awesome idea.
I have sworn by Kirklands for years as the BEST place to buy a lamp, can’t beat the quality and price. I really love the vignettes you create around your home with a chunky lamp and books, pottery, floral arrangements, looks so homey!
Rhoda…love all of your beautiful lamps…I especially love the crystal and brass lamp in the first pic…so elegant!…The new Kirkland’s lamp is perfect for your den…I love the shape and the burlap shade is a great compliment….so, if I won that lamp, I would definitely place it in my media/family room…I have just the spot for it!!! :)….great giveaway…thanks to Kirklands…and I need to go by there and look at their new lamp collection!
I love that this lamp has presence, but is not overwhelming. I also love the Tortoise Glass Table Lamp. I would put it in my den/library room, and probably the English Chestnut Table Lamp too!
I so enjoy your blog! I grew up in Atlanta, and have always loved to thrift. Always room for something “old” in my house!
I like the Peacock Blue table lamp.
I am pleasantly surprised by their website. Their store here in OKC is terrible…nothing but fake flowers and bad “art” in a store that is so overly scented, you get a headache after 5 minutes. I will have to get on their website more often.
I like the turquoise scroll lamp. I am redoing my basement playroom and I need a different lamp. I also like the deer antlers, but I already have a few in there and I think that would be too much.
